I have this and it's my first VA panel monitor and to be honest I miss IPS panel colors. It feels a bit like you're only getting 80-90% of the colors. It's not bad by any means though.
You're comparing apples to oranges. This is an ultrawide and you're referring to a regular monitor. People who want an ultrawide simply aren't considering regular 16:9 monitors

Would this be a good gaming monitor? noticed that you'd need DP to get the 144hz

Can these be split into 2 virtual monitors or does the hardware have to support it?

Idk man.. I play a darker type of game on my VA and the colors look great. Kinda scared to go ips and pay like 500$ more cuz if I buy a new monitor it's going to be a 32in 144hz 4k ips. Honestly this deal isn't that great. For like 250 more you could get 4k 144hz with hdr. You'll lose 2 inches and won't be curved but I mean..

In the past year, I find myself watching netflix / youtubeTV on my monitor a lot (rarely use the TV anymore). Does "gaming monitor" help with the viewing experience of netflix/TV?

I have 34" curved ultrawide dell (u3415wb) that I got years ago and it's been great, but thinking about changing to gaming monitor if that helps.

Just an alternative, give the ASUS TUF VG34VQL1B a good look. It is $50 more but is also tad bit better than this Dell on all attributes. Not sure if it's worth it to any of you but it's a viable option.

Great monitor, but keep in mind G-Sync is not supported and G-Sync VRR has major issues when frames dip below 60FPS. FreeSync works great.

I got this a week ago and was able to apply a 10% coupon that was floating around by purchasing through the Dell business site.

Also got another 8% cash back through a 3rd party cash back referral site.

Ended up ~$375 + tax.
