I love this lens! It's an amazing budget lens and my default lens for a variety of situations. I love other lens more (like the 85) but for day to day shooting, this is a keeper. Great for videos too.

This lens punches so far out of its price range it's impressive. Used for a handful of weddings and some personal video projects when I was using the Canon Mirrorless system and I've got nothing but good things to say about this lens. It's a steal at this price. Super fun Macro lens as well, minimum focus distance is only like 8-10 inches.

the 35 and 85 are the best RF lenses factoring in cost. I dropped the over $1k on the 24-105 F4 L lens but these get more use.

yesssss... the macro is FANTASTIC. I bought the 100 mm macro because I thought it would be a better macro lens (it has a 1.4x). But I still tend to use this 35 mm one more.

Lens is same price at amazon without the junk and free shipping. I got into taking pictures a few months ago and have mostly been using the 50mm. I might pick this up to go with my RP.

Why? I have the 100 too and want this one, but keep thinking why, if I have the 100mm.. I also have the 24-105 and worried I'd never actually use this one. (Same thought I have on the 16mm)...

Yeah, it's $399 at all authorized dealers due to Canon's November instant rebate deal.

Great lens; sharp, small, light, macro, cheap. Cons: Feels plasticky and a boring focal length.

good price on the refurbished item. last year they gave additional 10% which made these a great value.

Terrible slow auto focus for video. Shame from canon.

What does a boring focal length mean?

35mm is one of the most common focal length used for cameras so picture taken with it look a little generic. You can compensate by having a skill for composition or if you're a beginner it's a good lens to start with.

It's a fast lens, cheap, and great for any photographer no matter body you use. I love my 50mm 1.8 $200 lens. Although my main carry is the 24-105mm f4.
