Performance is admirable - amazing how far i3 processors have come in the 11th generation.
HP Build quality is also not too shabby - definitely way better than the Gateway deals from Walmart. It looks a lot more expensive than it is. Most importantly, the 14" form factor is very portable and the 3 lbs weight makes it super convenient to have around the house.
Upgrade to Win 11 was a breeze and Windows automatically downloaded all drivers including BIOS updates seamlessly - so far the process has been almost Chromebook like which is a huge plus. Also, not a lot of bloatware that I can see - only HP app is the Support Assistant that is fine imo. I'm sure there are other hidden bloatware but none that I've been exposed to as yet.
I've been running a couple of resource intensive apps on it and although I do hear the fan kicking in the bacground, it hasn't gotten too hot - in fact, it's very comfortable to have in my lap without you know worrying about my future generations ;-)
Overall, I'm definitely very impressed by this little chap - definitely way better than my 15" Dell XPS that is heavy (although it is made of aluminum) and BSODs on me all the time.
Let me know if you guys have any questions for me on the specific laptop or experience using it - would be happy to answer any and all qs
This is the superior 11th gen mobile i3 with a 10000 rating at Passmark. Some number of cores and same 10000 as the latest 11th gen i5. I kid you not! .......the i5-1135G7
What the i5 has is superior graphics @ Iris Xe. About 30% better than what the i3-1125G4 has Which iirc are properly called UHD 630 Xe (no Iris)
i5 11th gen mobile and on up have the better Iris graphics...

Another note- I don't usually suggest HP but if you do get a good deal, only through Costco. HP from website will charge you restock fee and grind your ass to stop your return or warranty request. All that bother and risk can be avoided by buying through Costco.
Looking through my email, it says it was purchased with a Costco Shop card, so I don't know if that extends the warranty or not.
Let me know what you find out.

Unfortunately, this remains very much how warranties are managed today. As such, if you can opt for a platform which is ubiquitous and/or serviceable do so when you can. The laptop space is trickier for this, but that's also why I tend to favor off-lease/enterprise models over some cheap retail options specifically because they're often engineered for field service and have a wider source for parts than their retail brethren. Just in the last few years I specifically bought an old enterprise laptop, swapped out a comically noisy fan, and got my brother-in-law the deal of a lifetime in the process.
Good luck!
