Stupid question - would this work for a foldable workout bench at home? I'd like to start hip thrusts but have little space. How are the edges of the platform?

I was thinking of padding the edges, but the legs folded up look like a tight fit. Any thoughts?

I am a 6'3" 280lb guy. This bench has worked flawlessly for me. Actually held me and my wife for about 10 minutes when I needed her hands while working on my truck. Felt no instability.

You could make that work. There's also this for the edging at Home Depot

Cardinal Gates 12 ft. Edge and Corner Safety Cushion Roll Plus Corners in Gray (4-Pack) its $23.50 a pack which looks like it would cover one of the platform so you might need two packs.
Edit: The four pack description on their website just means you get 4 corners per pack, not 4 packs.

It will work, but only for light weight stuff. I wouldn't actually bench press on it, but things like dumbbell rows or flys or even light pressing would be fine. A $2 pool noodle would probably fit on the edges just fine.

It is strong but light. Not sure if the height would be comfortable or awkward though.
