I normally agree, you can't assume that prices will always stay the same. That said, this particular item has gone up in price a ton, too much for my taste. I'm looking to buy one as a gift, I bought mine at $20 and I'm having a hard time accepting $50 as the new norm for this, keep hoping to see $25 or $30 around Black Friday.

The regular price several years ago was $72, now it's $75. It's just that this particular sale price isn't as good as the black friday or clearance deals that people may have gotten in the past.

"Regular" price is irrelevant. MSRP is an arbitrary number and seldom represents the average price something has sold for over time. Actual sales prices that people have paid tell the real story. When something is on "sale" 50% of time for less than "regular price" it is very difficult to see "regular price" as the actual price. This is especially prevalent in tools and the like. Stuff spends more time on "sale" than it does at "regular" price

ETA - I have no idea if that is the case with these platforms, but it is a safe bet that it is, so I have no problem making a blanket assumption 🤣

These are awesome. Much more useful than a regular step ladder.

I just checked and I paid $25 in 2019.

I dropped the ball and didn't get one when they were $20-25 just a few years ago. Now I actually need one, but have to agree that it's hard to pay twice the price from just a few years ago.
