Thinking of getting it for my Samsung 4k 32" monitor. My PC only plays 4k videos from YouTube but not Netflix for some reason and I have been thinking about adding a 4k stick to the monitor to take advantage of the high resolution. Netflix at FHD looks horrible today.

You have to pay more to get Netflix in 4K.

This is a 3 year old model and afaik the "R" on the end means it is refurbished.
It it certainly useable but I would spend $5 more and get thee fire 4K that is on sale for $25… and I don't even like Amazon, lol…. Would prefer Roku but the fact is the fire 4K is a much faster device with better picture quality than this,

This is not a refurbished unit
I have this unit as well as the current Roku ultra and apple TV
The picture quality is the same among all three

Do you actually own this unit?

Own many Roku, as well as fire sticks and an older Apple TV. Look at the wiki and you can see it is rather outdated, plus the fact that Roku is in a dispute with YouTube and may also loose Amazon prime video makes it a tough choice. And that is from someone that really like Roku… best interface of them all, and the best universal search of them all. The only edge that Apple TV has is that is supports airplay. Fire stick is from the evil penis rocket bot pay with crappy navigation but you can reload it with other themes that are much simpler and better… but who does that other than fanatics.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roku

Ps. You are right,,, the older Roku models with R on the end were refurbished. just googled and learned that today the R means it was sold by a retail store and X from Roku directly or online. Still this is not the best value, yet still perfectly usable.

Outdated in comparison to what that is $20.00?

Not even sure where you came up with that a firestick had a better picture?...

Apple Tv works better if you have many apple devices in your house as it integrates well there. I can agree with that

You are speculating about losing Amazon prime...if that is so then it effects more than this unit

As I said before this is not refurbished so you were just just flat wrong about that

Reloading themes?.....seriously?

You can get this directly from Roku with free shipping:

https://www.roku.com/products/roku-premiere

It's also available for the same price at Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

Negatives about this model:
-No Dolby Vision
-IR Remote
-2.4Ghz Wifi only

If you want a Roku, I recommend paying an extra $10 for the new 2021 Roku Streaming Stick 4K:

Edit: I regret tryiing to help you, but unlike you I am trying to help where as you just come off as a total ass. Good luck.

Hey, just trying to help you. No problem if you want this old model Roku 3920 (released 9/2018) but a much better Roku from bestbuy is just $25 or a 4K Roku for $30, and the way better firestick 4K (released 9/2020) that is usually $50 is now $25. Unlike the Roku the firestick is never going to get cut off from prime video and plays it plays YouTube today which Roku does not (unless you had downloaded it and installed it on your Roku already (which would be a great trick since you have not bought it yet) if those are things you use. And the $25 firestick supports 4K and HDR. But don't listen to me, do your own research. I see this unit as wasting $20 and you may see the firestick for $5 more as wasting $5, but there is no doubt that the $5 more for the firestick 4K will be more useful for much much longer than this three year old Roku model.

This thread is about the 1080p streaming device called the Roku premier 3920 released 9/2018 for $20
There is another thread about the 2160p streaming device called the Firestick 4K 3rd gen released 9/2020 for $25.

"If picture quality is your main concern, then you can go for Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K. It supports 1080p HD, 4K UHD up to 2160p at 60fps, HDR10, HLG, HDR10+. Whereas Roku Premiere supports up to HDR10 only."
And lots of other good info for people that are capable of reading and want to learn to make smart choices…. https://kodiroku.com/roku-vs-firestick/

That is a great example of misinformation… telling others it is incorrect without providing anything to substantiate your lies. Well done. The orange man taught you well.
