This is an amazing set. The price per brick is obviously amazing and the set itself is great. The little environments that it comes with are really cool and there's a ton of variety of shapes and colors.

I think so. Some regular legos are small enough to be a choking hazard. Lego says duplo is for up to age 5

Depends on your kids. My 5yo daughter still plays with her duplos more than her friends small sized ones

Duplos are like wooden blocks which allows you to build stuff much quicker than Legos. I see my 3yr old continue playing them for a few more years as he would complement it w/ his other toys.
