I paid $499 a couple of weeks ago. Solid deal. I use it to stream PS5 gameplay to Twitch at 1080p 60fps. This is a beast of a laptop for home use and handles streaming like a champ.

Not to take away from this awesome deal, but no backlit keyboard is a deal breaker for me. Lots of people don't care about that, but they'll complain about lack of Thunderbolt or USB-C charging… I don't care about the last two, but to each their own.
EDIT: Walmart reviews say no USB-C charging, but OP says theirs does.
The 1135g7 is a beast for this price point, with 16GB ram and a 512GB SSD with USB-C charging. Similarly spec'd laptops are typically $600+, including comparable Ryzen laptops
Edit: I also backed up all of the original drivers to the cloud, in the event something goes wrong I can reinstall.

It has USB-C charging! That's the first thing I tried out of the box. I don't need the backlit keyboard because the lights are always on for streaming, but I know that is a deal breaker for some.
I was going off of a review! Good to hear! I'd add it to you description.
I downloaded Intel driver support assistant and it's keeping me up to date. I don't expect gateway will be releasing driver updates.

Yeah will probably wait for a deal on something better, Black Friday/Cyber Monday coming up in a few weeks so will wait.
I'm not familiar with that as I've never needed it. How do I find out? Would I need a USB C to HDMI cable or what?
Yeah I figured... Sorry I can't help with that. I wish there was another way to find out.
Edit: A review on the Gateway USA website states "I bought one and to my surprise the USB type-c port works to charge the laptop and supports HDMI video without any problem"
It's called Mavis Beacon. Usually about $9.99. 🤣
