I just ordered this over Fitbit Sense for $189 (Costco).

Been researching fitness trackers to replace my Charge 3. Sense has bad/mixed reviews and Fitbit has had quality issues with every tracker I've bought over the years.

I have heard great things about Garmin products and my research convinced me to buy this one over Charge/Versa/Sense. I didn't want a big, round watch but there's some great Garmin round watches too (Vivoactive 4 and Venu were on my shortlist).

Plus I don't want to pay Fitbit a monthly subscription to get access to my own advanced fitness data. Garmin makes it all available for free - that's the way it should be.

You cannot compare them. They are completely different animals.
Apple watch is fully blown smartwatch, essentially your iPhone on the wrist. Yes, it has basic fitness tracking functionality, but that's exactly what it is: basic.
Garmin is first and foremost fitness tracker, designed and optimized for this purpose. Yes, it has some basic smartwatch functionality, but it it's a few very basic things.
Don't get me wrong: both are great products, they are just designed for different purposes.

serious question, i checked the description and it's got GPS. so, im wondering why the absence of a compass is it's downfall when GPS, among other features, pretty much have the same functionality of a compass? am i missing something?

Looks like kohl's is matching the price as well, if you can find one in a store near you.

The only problem is that this is the price pretty much everywhere now. I pulled the trigger here and am so happy with the purchase; I just wish I could have it tomorrow (like Amazon would do for me) instead of the abyss I entered with buydig.

GREAT deal, but look and buy elsewhere if you can (yet this deal seems to have initiated the price-matches, so maybe if not in a rush, give this post link credit?). It's like a 5 star and 1 star at the same time...so I'm just not gonna rate and choose to be patient as buydig sends my watch.

How does this compare to the versa 3? I managed to snag a versa 3 on clearance at target for 115. Which is better? My versa 1 is dying and they only seem to last me a year. I used it for footsteps, a quick check of test messages and reading my blood sugar. Alexa on the fitbjt sounds appealing, and being able to talk on it. But, I also had Alexa listening....I like the garmin smaller size....

Versa 3 has more "smart watch" features, Venu is better for GPS and maybe more durable. Both are good deals

Wish they had any of their golf watches on sale.
I have a vivoactive 3 and it isn't a golf watch, but it does let you download golf apps that work with GPS to tell you distance to the pin at different courses. You can save course info to the watch. People asked me the distance instead of using their rangefinders.

For fitness, can't go wrong with Garmin.
I've had my Garmin Vivoactive for 3 years.
Never a problem, tracks all my workouts, connects to my heart rate monitor strap via bluetooth, connects to my Galaxy S21 Ultra via bluetooth, battery lasts for 1 week and GPS is built in, basic notifications of phone calls and texts... and this is a 3 year old watch.

Definitely going to buy another Garmin watch soon, maybe even this one.

looked at a youtube video review of all the features, and I got a headache. I can only imagine the user manual is gonna be like 100+ pages long. very geeky watch, but looks like its worth every penny.

I'm an active casual runner and love to hike, swim, etc. I'm considering between Garmin Venu Sq vs Instinct from eBay on another thread for 168$. Please let me know which is better in 2021. Below are some of my research result.

I personally think Garmin Instinct fit me well and here are my pro-cons :
Instinct :
+ more rugged use and expected to live longer than Venu for a rough usage
+ more battery life
+ more masculine looks
+ has ultratrac for hiking in the woods
- black and white
- can't be used on formal occasions

Venu Sq :
+ better design, can be used for formal occasions
+ cheaper
+ newer (released in 2020 vs instinct in 2018)
+ has VO2 max reading
- doesn't seem as robust
- less battery life

Which garmin watch is good hr and sleep analytics ?
All of these support the new Garmin Advanced Sleep Monitoring algorithm which is a big improvement over what it used to be and actually pretty decent now.

If you want the most accurate wrist HRM, you're going to want one of the watches with the new Elevate V4 sensor though, and at the moment that's only the Venu 2 and the 945 LTE. These ones have the older version which is a bit less accurate but still pretty OK.
