But the AT-AT isn't the shuttle. And $56 is A LOT more affordable than $800.

Crazy lame question I know, but I want to start buying my son a lot Harry Potter, Star Wars and Batman Lego stuff

What are the odds that these sets do not hold or go up in value in say 5-10 years?

I do not want him to have them based on future value, just kinda curious before I started dropping $$$$ on the news stuff and retired

I'm sure this UCS AT-AT is going to be a hit but idk. It seems like the interior isn't going to be accurate to what the inside of an AT-AT should look like

I heard someone say that because the "for adults" lego "theme" is kinda saturated that the newer sets won't appreciate like say the original modular sets have appreciated

The interior of any of the sets isn't accurate to what they should be. They're Lego sets not movie props.

I was born too soon. When I was a kid legos were blocks and the people were generic yellow guys. Wish I had a good excuse to buy these sets.

It will be worth much less once the pieces are lost. Open package value is already diminished quite a lot.

I just tried and was successfully able to price match at Target.

So I end up able to get it for $56 - 5% red card discount and this set also qualifies for the spend $50 get $10 Target GC so am getting that as well.

Not a crazy lame question, but I bet your son would find it crazy lame to keep legos sealed in the box and not play with them…AkA the only way to actually make more serious profits on LEGO's!

Buy what your son likes and let him play with it. It's a toy OR a collectable, it can't be both.

But the figures are are what will keep their value the most.
