You actually don't even need the phone at all. Sounds weird, but as long as you enter an IMEI that passes their compatibility check and qualifies you for the promo, you can just order the SIM and then activate it online. No need to put the sim into a phone at all to activate it. Once it is activated online the service is started, and that is what counts for the 90 days of active service terms.

True story, for this promo I used the IMEI of an iPhone 12 that I got from visible and had already sold(!), but still had the IMEI written down somewhere, and used that to pass the compatibility check and order the SIM card. Once I got the shipping confirmation the next day, I activated my service online (select "I already rec'd my SIM card'), and ported in my expiring Tello number...all before receiving the physical SIM card, which looks like it will be delivered tomorrow.

I've done this BYOD promo several times over the years and never had a problem receiving the git card. They don't check if you are actually using the SIM or phone it was signed up with, just that you have the active line and are paying the bills. Of course, YMMV!

I looked at their site and do not see any option for talk/text only. I also see that you must have Xfinity internet, so many of us do not have any options with them. For those of you who do, sounds like a nice deal.

I used google voice number in the past for BYOD promo and always work. you need to unlock your google voice number from google unlock page [google.com] and pay $3. I recommended to change your voicemail PIN in the google voice setting. This is going to be used by mobile provider for porting. After you complete the unlocking of your GV number, go to xfinity website and place the BYOD order. You should be able to select google voice as your carrier and select "keep my number" to use your GV number. Xfinity will send you the sim card. The porting process start once you receive your sim card and start the activation process. It may take few days to complete the activation. As long as you provide the GV number account information correctly including the PIN (use GV number if you never setup PIN), the porting should be smooth and easy. At the end you need only to pay extra $2 per month for an additional line within the shared plan. .

Has anyone have any luck porting a one plus phone to xfinity? I have a one plus 8. One rep said you can and another rep said it's not compatible
. So looking for anyone else's experience.

How can I confirm that my transfer is eligible for a $200 prepaid card? I'm asking because I saw that when I filled out an application for a transfer of my number, but did not get any confirmation about that afterwards. Subsequent emails are about 'we received the order', 'you order is on the way', 'your transfer is complete.' Since it takes more than 90 days, they might say they do not know even if I do not get that reward.

Right before you finalized your order, you'll see a summary of your transaction. On that summary, you should also see that $200 gift card banner per line. You should take a screen shot of that. If you did not, maybe after a month, call a rep and tell them you don't see your gift card on the rewards tracker page and once they verify, they can manually put it in

My unlocked iphone XR is coming as incompatible, even though I have used it on xfinity mobile in the past on the same phone. T-mobile/ATT/Verizon checkers are ok.

I can activate the service on some other phone, but will it cause issue when I put back the sim in XR and start using the service? TIA.

Any idea how fast SIM card is shipped? Is it Fedex overnight like Visible? I am going to transfer my primary line. If I have to activate by 17 online without SIM then it will be a problem.

Thx for your answer. However, I do not know what a rewards tracker is on their website. Activity, billing, device, and setting is all I can see. Could you point me to that?

Same here. I googled and someone said it could take up to 7 days because it is considered a landline.
