Just a FYI this isn't the similar named eBay site that sells junk stuff.

It would be a 20% decrease.

The % gained or lost is based on the original value, not the amount increased or decreased. In other words, ...
A $2 gain or loss is different for $8 vs. $10 (the original value)
2 / 8 = 25%
2 / 10 = 20%

The reverse math (moving the gain or loss value to the result side):
25% of $8 = $2
25% of $10 = $2.50
20% of $8 = $1.60
20% of $10 = $2
I thoroughly enjoyed the above math class. Not being sarcastic, genuinely good reading Wink
Show me your 15 year old DeWalt tool with a new lithium battery... I won't wait up. I've used every brand tool on the job site you can imagine. They all have pros/cons. Ryobi hands down offers the best value of any tool brand on the market. Good luck when DeWalt inevitably jumps ship from the 20v max lineup.

So……….. I feel awkward replying to this comment. I feel the hatred is misguided. Should you take ryobi tools to your every day house building job site. Or to a high rise that's being erected. Not definitely not. But should you need to cut some 2x's or plywood. For a odd job around the house or weekend project. Or need a sander to smooth out a piece of wood. A drill motor to tighten a squeaking deck plank Ryobi tools are perfect fit for that home owner. I have my food in both ecosystems and enjoy the effectiveness I get from both levels of tools.

I know a very skilled and successful contractor that swears by them. 90% of the "quality" of marquis brands at a fraction of the price. If they get lost, dropped or stolen, they are cheaper to replace. I've personally had Ryobi tools outlast DeWalt, and I'm just a weekend DIY guy.

To each their own.

Picked up the misting fan for $37.49, and the free sprayer showed up in my cart! Not a bad haul for $51.04 shipped .....

Not sure if this is a mistake, but I put 4 items in and got 4 sprayers. I have 2 other sprayers from different deals. At this point, everyone who comes over for Thanksgiving leaves with a sprayer. No exceptions, if you want turkey you're getting a sprayer, lol.

Blemished will be indistinguishable from new, there is a legal reason they can't call it new. Reconditioned is returns and really depends what tool you get and why it was returned. Little to no refurbishment occurs apart to stamp it with a refurb brand. I personally dont buy their reconditioned.

Not the best deal. The 25% off is off a new msrp tool, not their normally lower prices for blemished or reconditioned. With the 9.99 shipping it's barely cheaper then buying a new tool from Home Depot and shipped for free.

Just lately I picked up a few of the Craftsman 20v tool deals posted here like the brushless drill, BL impact driver, multi-tool, 6.5 circ saw and D-handle grinder.
They're basically identical to the DeWalt counterparts except the batteries won't interchange. There's guys doing teardowns on Youtube confirming this. DeWalt is just reaming their customers with those Premium prices they're charging for Consumer grade tools.

And here's an example in Hand tools. They're both made by Stanley/Black & Decker.
1/2" Craftsman torque wrench is $50. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...0DER&psc=1
The identical 1/2" torque wrench except the plastic handle is Dewalt yellow cost $138. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...YJ72&psc=1

Most likely this is true, but keep in mind you could get one with an actual blemish. Or at least you wouldn't be justified in a return for minor damage.

I bought the wall tool storage unit and it did have a bend in the metal at the corner. It was in an ok spot so it wasn't noticeable where I placed it, but if someone was expecting a new item= fake blemished, they would be disappointed. Almost all of the other blemished items I've gotten were indistinguishable from new.

Here's one of those guys who judges tools based on color brand and not performance, completely oblivious to all of the tool test vids that show many of the newer Ryobi products now performing better or equivalent at less cost without needing to switch to a completely new expensive battery design every few years.

This is the same juvenile mentality that drives kids to believe they can't be cool at school if they don't have a certain brand of clothing or shoes so that's where all of their money goes - trying to be cool for someone else and of course none of it having any effect on their grades. It's the same type of guys who grow up needing to have tool-truck branded everything while making payments on it for the rest of their lives, as if it's the tool brand that makes them a professional. If the tool brand is defining the quality of your work I have some bad news about your skills. Recognize it when you see it.

'Factory blemished' from DTO will always, 100% of the time, be a brand new sealed in the package tool. If it's out of the package or returned it goes through the refurb line for re-test and gets stamped as refurb. Your chances of getting a "factory blemish" product with an actual blemish are the same as your chances of getting one with a blemish off the shelf at HD. The only exception to this is if a manager lets you buy a display product, or during the rare as-is store sales where damaged pallets/shipments of new products with degraded packing gets sold with no warranty - but you know that up front.

Per some corporate folks I know at TTI-DTO, the legal reason it's sold as "factory blemished" is TTI's contract with HD which says HD will be the sole and exclusive retailer allowed to sell "new" tools.

The 25% is from Direct tools prices, which are cheaper than the mspr to begin with. That is their advantage selling them directly to the consumer .
They offer the choice of refurbished, by the manufacturer or what they call Blemished, which is just their way of selling you a New item at a discounted price without stepping on Home Depot's toes blatantly.
They do charge a flat rate $10 shipping, but if you browse their inventory you can still usually come out of there with a nice savings.
And the Misting fans for example seem to be hard to find at HD and around $60 if I remember when they are in stock.
But to say that DT is just selling at the same price is not correct.
Trust me I am a cheapo,🤣 I know when I'm saving coin
