Thanks. Not really a good deal, though. The same tools, minus the hammer drill was 125 at one point, at Home Depot.

It was clearance, but still…

For the M18 Fuel version or the Standard M18 version? I doubt that M18 Fuel would go on clearance.

This is way too much to pay for these tools, imo.

You do know though that when Home Depot puts stuff on clearance after it sells out all their stock that they dont re-stock it anymore after that right? why would it still be up for sale on their website if it went on clearance on Home Depot?

 Oh well I wasnt sure if it was a good deal or not since they usually have "hackable" deals for tools so I posted it to let the SD'ers decide, I usually see this combo set for $400 on Home Depot's email ads. Usually in those "hackable" deals it involves returning the batteries but if you dont already have M18 batteries then your left with a tool without batteries.

I was wrong about part of it. It had 2 of the 3 AH batteries, not 5, which is important to note. It was still a better value per tool and battery.

However, things go on clearance, even when it's the current model, and they aren't replacing that model. Sometimes, it is a particular kit that didn't sell well, so they are axing it. It still had the latest fuel impact driver.

This kit is still too expensive for what you get, and there have been better deals. They aren't deals right now, but they will come back around.

False. 2997-22 includes 2 5ah batteries.
Just look at the main picture.. same as Northern with each tool on a 5.0.

I guess the people that used to always chime in on the Milwaukee deals to point out that ryobi is cheaper all decided to stop doing that and instead go onto every post and point out that Amazon sells stuff.
Or maybe all the ryobi reps all got jobs as Amazon reps 😆 #Busted

Or you could pay $30 more and get another tool included.

OP is not a good deal at all. Kit is routinely $399 with a free tool at depot.

Mediocre deal. I bought this kit for $399 with free framing nailer ($350 MSRP) earlier this year off the HD site.

That was a unicorn. Would not use that as a reference point for judging deals on this or any other kit. You'll end up quite disappointed if the framing nailer deal is your benchmark.

In a pandemic world with supply chain issues, you're not likely to see pricing that good any time soon.

It's irrelevant. There are better deals at this very moment, such as the free tool promo.

What I said is not irrelevant. The framing nailer deal was a hall of fame deal and is not a reference point to say a future deal is bad. While OP is not a good deal, that's not the way to solidify your point. FYI I should know, I posted the framing nailer deal.

Anyways, in this thread, I already linked a better free tool option for this kit. That, in fact, is how you show that OP isn't a good deal.
