This is confusing. So I can trade-in a Nexus 7 tablet and get the $350 credit applied?

Edit: Prepare for tears, y'all. This is going to be a mess.

Friendly advice: If you're interested in any of these tablets…just go buy them outright without the hoops & games. Samsung either has so much customer volume that they don't care about the complaints or they just flat-out don't care about their individual customers. Based on the many deals prior this year: a small percentage may score this, but there are a lot of variables working against you (1.They Cancel your initial order / 2. cancel your trade-in from a litany of arbitrary reasons and bill you the $350 TIV / 3. make you wait over the tight 2-week return window to verify/appraise your trade-in…just to name a few) and their call centres are HORRENDOUSLY DIFFICULT and time-intensive to deal with when there are issues. People have even had their money in limbo for weeks to months (without using CC chargeback) in hopes of getting their orders fulfilled amidst weeks of shipping delay after delay after delay…

Yeah, I'm still sore that last December I tried trading in an iPad 3 for $100 towards a Tab A7 and they not only did they reject the trade in 3-4 weeks after they received it but they told me it was too late to return the unused A7. I get then possibly rejecting that tablet when I selected iPad 9.7", but it was the fact that I sent it on time, they didn't process the trade in until after the return period lapsed, and then told me I was SOL.

This time I'm sending in an iPad Air 2, which they normally offer $150 for.

Im considering the same thing as well, buying a tablet brand new for trade in. Have people in the past sent in completely new, still in the box uncharged tablets for trade in? Or do we need to open it up and charge it? Seems like a dumb question but don't want to mess this up lol...

My suggestion is to open and charge it and document the serial #, take pics and video that it turns on and off and have no scratches. Cya just in case they pull anything funny

I have done this, you should atleast open it charge it and make sure it turns on..especially if it's an old stock new tablet like a old tab s2 or something which maybe 3 to 4 yrs old.dont wanna take chances in it getting rejected right ✅ 😉.

Just picked mine up from bestbuy. Got an email with a label to print. Shined up my Zenpad z8s (from verizon in 2017, used to keep my grandfathered unlimited contract going). Took video of all sides of the device, and all functions working (volume buttons, power buttons, touched places on screen used home, back and menu buttons, plugged in and showed charging, unplugged and showed discharging), brought up the IMEI in settings, and the serial number in settings, showed both cameras working all on video. then powered off, and videoed the bubble wrap process, and the box it was going in, along with air packing from amazon. Just dropped off at fedex store a few minutes ago. I'm not opening the new device until i get my trade in credit approved though.

Zenpad Z8s seems to be selling for about $50 on ebay currently.
