This is confusing. So I can trade-in a Nexus 7 tablet and get the $350 credit applied?

Edit: Prepare for tears, y'all. This is going to be a mess.

Friendly advice: If you're interested in any of these tablets…just go buy them outright without the hoops & games. Samsung either has so much customer volume that they don't care about the complaints or they just flat-out don't care about their individual customers. Based on the many deals prior this year: a small percentage may score this, but there are a lot of variables working against you (1.They Cancel your initial order / 2. cancel your trade-in from a litany of arbitrary reasons and bill you the $350 TIV / 3. make you wait over the tight 2-week return window to verify/appraise your trade-in…just to name a few) and their call centres are HORRENDOUSLY DIFFICULT and time-intensive to deal with when there are issues. People have even had their money in limbo for weeks to months (without using CC chargeback) in hopes of getting their orders fulfilled amidst weeks of shipping delay after delay after delay…

Hope you got some paperwork that showed you traded it in. Otherwise, it looks like you may have just given him a free tablet (that will cost you $350)

They don't want the general public to know their 600 dollars tablet is wroth less than 150 lol. They may just want to keep a positive image while selling the tablets to the right people. You know, every additional customer they get means less customers for their competitors.

That's not how it happened for me, Best Buy didn't ask for any trade in and I got email from Samsung to send in my trade in after the pickup. The pickup email explicitly says NOT to trade in device at the store. I would check with Samsung support if I were you.

Check your email. If you received trade-in instructions, you will get charged $350 for not sending in your trade-in.

You may want to return to BB right away and report this incident to their management. This was inappropriate employee behavior at the absolute minimum. At worst, it is outright theft. If you cannot get your tablet returned to you, I suggest returning the Samsung and abandoning the deal.

Where I am whenever you trade-in anything at Best Buy you have to fill out a form describing what the item is, its value, and that you consent to giving them ownership. I think it's for the local authorities.
