This is confusing. So I can trade-in a Nexus 7 tablet and get the $350 credit applied?

Edit: Prepare for tears, y'all. This is going to be a mess.

Friendly advice: If you're interested in any of these tablets…just go buy them outright without the hoops & games. Samsung either has so much customer volume that they don't care about the complaints or they just flat-out don't care about their individual customers. Based on the many deals prior this year: a small percentage may score this, but there are a lot of variables working against you (1.They Cancel your initial order / 2. cancel your trade-in from a litany of arbitrary reasons and bill you the $350 TIV / 3. make you wait over the tight 2-week return window to verify/appraise your trade-in…just to name a few) and their call centres are HORRENDOUSLY DIFFICULT and time-intensive to deal with when there are issues. People have even had their money in limbo for weeks to months (without using CC chargeback) in hopes of getting their orders fulfilled amidst weeks of shipping delay after delay after delay…

The FE has worse screen (no 120Hz like S7), worse performance with mid range CPU (S7 has top end) and a non-Bluetooth/battery SPen, but has a bigger screen. Build quality is similar. If I were you I'd keep the S7 if you don't mind the 11inch screen.

I selected the tab A for take in at checkout but my email confirmation ended up being a tab pro s. Did this happen with anyone else? I tried to chat them but they said if I send anything else other than listed on the trade in email I will be charged. Of course I noticed that after everything is sold out so I can't even try to reorder.

I got the FE because the S7 was out of stock. What is the benefit of the BT S-pen? Can it be purchased separately and added to the FE?

Seems like no mass-cancellation emails have gone out (yet). I wonder if we can read anything into this.

They shouldn't. It was very clear that trade in value was 350. Shown in cart, checkout and emails. So as long as Tablet is not cracked, powers on and no blacklist it should be ok.
Not giving you full trade for your good device as advertised it will almost fall under "bait and switch" which is illegal.
Also they probably have circuit breakers in case there are tons of orders in a short time, any good reputable company has those safeguards... So this was probably intentional anyway.

How do they have the upper hand? By purposefully denying actual documentation that says otherwise, basically breaching an agreement between seller and buyer? You really think a company as big as Samsung goes around deliberately screwing mass quantities of customers? Sounds like you have trust issues...

EDIT: Just to add some additional Samsung trade-in history, last year Samsung had a similar "too-good-to-be-true" deal on an A71 5G phone. Traded in an old iPhone 5 and got the A71 5G plus a bunch of accessories for $68. I traded in my iPhone and I have to say their trade-in experience was better than any other.
Constant email updates at every turn, letting me know what was going on. In the end (which was all of less than a week) I got my trade-in value and was very happy. I don't expect this time will be any different.

Samsung would be on shaky legal ground, but it wouldn't be the first time a large web retailer screwed over their customers.

In this case, it's been nearly 24 hours sine the trade-in values were changed, and no mass cancellations yet. Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow, the first "business" day. They may be waiting on the execs and pencil pushers to decide how to proceed.

Same here. I ordered Friday night for best buy pickup but no updates yet just says in process. The store has inventory though. Maybe will get sorted out Monday.

Ordered mine Friday night, it shipped Saturday morning and will be here Tuesday. It was the silver S7 FE 128GB + Olive earbuds. Would have preferred the regular S7 for the flagship-esque specs, but for $120, it's still a hell of a deal. Could just resell the tablet for profit (or buds).
