Yep. Starting on the 15th. $899 for the i7 1TB. Looking at picking one up for my son for light gaming. Roblox/Minecraft/Fortnite (Low settings)

High chance that the U series Processors are still gong to be Quad Core. For having more number of cores in small wattage, you need to have a very power efficient architecture in the first place which Alder Lake is definitely not. It even has higher power consumption than any of the Intel's current generation Processors (Rocket Lake ad Tiger Lake).

Yeah, I saw that… What's Intel smoking?

Bigger = Hotter = Faster

I'm predicting that the new 2022 Ryzens will be better (faster/more power efficient) again when their next chips come out.

The Asus Zenbook 13 OLED with 5700U/ 5800U is much better. This one has a last-Gen 4 core CPU which in 2021/2022should be banned.

There are two plans. In Early 2022, you'll see a modified Zen3 architecture with a whopping 192MB L3 Cache which AMD predicted to increase performance, especially in gaming, by 15%. This is called a 3D v-Cache which AMD has showcased in CES where the cache directly get mounted on top of the existing CPU die without increasing die size at all.
Zen4 will be coming later of 2022.

5800U version is not available at all and there is not a single AMD model for the 13.3" OLED model which comes with more than 8GB soldered Ram. But feel free to share if you have any link.

I had intel i5 10400H and it was way faster than u series from Ryzen or G series but it was in a gaming laptop with proper cooling. Not sure if getting 11300H on a slim laptop is wise. How is the cooling? Any one had an experice?

Really not comparable. That Zenbook isnt touchscreen.

- For productivity Slim 7 Pro 14" has 1800p in 16:10 vs the Zenbook OLED 13" 1080p. both are bright, OLED FHD Ryzen has better power use.
- For light gaming Iris Xe vs Asus crippled the Ryzen Radeon iGPU with 8GB shared RAM.

Buying for my teen entering college, I am waiting on the Costco deal Lenovo Ideapad 7i Slim Pro 1TB.

Not sure where I would position the Asus Zenbook 13 OLED. I would want it bumped to 16:10 IMO or choose Surface 4 Ryzen 8GB better keyboard on sales now or LG Gram/UltraPC if I was straight office productivity and no light gaming.

Yoga 7i Slim Pro is like a twin but with a 360 degree hinge vs 180. See 9m 30 mark of thermals under stress. The model also differs by adding MX450 25 watt.
