Wow that sucks. They are saving a lot by no longer having the ac portion and associated electronics.

Glad I got mine months ago before they ruined it.

The updated model no AC adapter option is stupid. Who wouldn't pay the extra $4 cost? Did not know about it. Thanks @SlickerThanSnot

Ugh. I've been waiting on a deal for the 511 for months. It's still being carried by many stores. I figured they'd want to clear out the old model and not realize it's the more desirable one.

Why would they remove the AC I have this fan and love it but mine has the AC ability. Would not pay this money for it if it did not.

I bought this last time it was at this price. Stupid of me to not double check, but instant buyers remorse when I found out I couldn't plug it in. Luckily I wasn't too upset bc I initially bought it and sold it the wife as part of our emergency kit in case the power goes out… this crappy lack of a feature just saves me some guilt on the quantity of batteries I have.

Yeah I Dewalt missed the mark here
It may have more CFM which means it makes more noise and no AC plug will be keeping my old one no upgrade here
