Skip the 3-pack X20 and get the 3-pack X60 from Costco for 20 bucks more (if you are or know a Costco member).

Could you provide some context instead of leaving useless comments?

I have used TP-Link products for a long time and have never had a single issue. Their Kasa line of smart switches and plugs is fantastic IMO, especially factoring in the price component. Their routers are also solid, although admittedly not as feature rich historically as some other brands like ASUS or Netgear. On the other hand, my Netgear routers all had connectivity issues and died after a few years due to unstable firmware updates. My TP-Link mesh system has been running without a problem for over a year.

I'm waiting on a deal for the x68 myself. I don't feel like wiring my back-haul, so I could benefit from the tri-band of the x68.

Edit: Looks like Amazon currently has a coupon code to make an x68 2-pack $220, which is the same unit cost as the Costco 3-pack for $330. I need/want 3, so this doesn't help me, but it's a good price if you only need 2.

There seem to be a lot of negative reviews. And I'm just referring to the ones for the tri-band model. But maybe that's the case with any router.

BTW, how important is a backhaul, if we aren't doing any streaming?
Also I wonder if getting a dual-band 3-pack (and not using a backhaul) would actually work better than a tri-band 2-pack, for a long ranch style house.

I have the same model, flashed to the latest Merlin firmware RT-AC68U, huge drop off in speed and stability in the past few months. 200mbps hardwired, 20mbps wireless as of late.
I think there is/was a problem with a recent firmware. People were downgrading to older versions to fix the problem. Not sure if the Merlin person/team fixed that yet or not.

I paid $200 for my Orbi RBK50 back in 2019. Seems like the S4 at $110 or even the x20 at $200 would be considerable upgrade.

I used TP-Link before switching to Orbi, never had real issues. The Orbi has been really solid just not as high of speeds as anticipated throughout the whole house. Sometimes it didn't feel like an improvement over the archer c7. I like Orbi because I could still do the browser login to do settings. But these tp-link meshes seem priced right.

Can you add more than three units to the mesh network?
Yes, and they can be different types of deco. Communicating node-to-node takes place at the slowest deco speed. So if you've got a few that are 100M and a few that are 1000M, the 1000M will only be that speed when communicating with each other.

Can the 3 mesh units be split to two different households? For Example use 2 of them in one house and one of them in another house (of course with different networks...)
Yes. Each one can function as a router on its own. They're all identical units. Technically you can use them for multiple routers in the same household, too. However, most people set them up so that they're on the same network and functioning as various access points.

I have had the Deco M4s for almost two years now. Overall, I've been impressed. My house is about 2500 ft2 and I have one node on each floor (main is in the basement at Fios drop). App is pretty easy to use and gives a solid amount of network control for a stock app.

I've had a few quirks pop up, but that's not a surprise because my network is fairly complicated. I didn't like the unreliability of the wifi backbone so I have a wired network through MoCA -- using a couple GoCoax MoCA adapters and an old Fios router. I also have two network switches, plus the fios router serving as a switch along with its MoCA bridge role. The only time I have issues is when we have power outages. Even then, rebooting usually solves the problem. Sometimes I only have to reboot one deco, sometimes I have to do all, and sometimes I have to do all in a particular sequence.

Anyone knows if there is a mesh wifi 6 system with advance settings where I can configure IP routing tables by commands? something like what ddwrt routers let you do.

This is not sold by Walmart.com.
I did call TP Link and they told there is no difference between X60 and W6000. W6000 is sold only in Walmart. I ended up getting W6000 from eBay for 90$, waiting for shipment
Same story for the second link on the OP list (the x20). Walmart calls it the W3600 from my understanding. "TP-Link Deco W3600 Wi-Fi 6 AX1800 Mesh WiFi Router Replacement System, 2-pack"

Search ebay for something like this:
"tp-link deco w3600"

They generally go for less than $100 for a 2 pack, in comparison to $199 3-pack or $150 2-pack (on amazon). I purchased a 2-pack early this year for ~$95 and love it/them. Super easy to set up and covers my three story house just fine (~4500sq ft).

Anyone know what's a good business router up to 80-100 user within 2000sq ft? I'm guessing these wouldn't work.

I got my Deco X20 today. After setup I was disappointed. All three connected to Gigabytes Ethernet port in three different locations of my home. When I use it as a router mode I am not getting close to 100 MB except on the primary device (fast roaming was on). Even on the primary device was unable to reach over 400MB speed when my phone was 1 feet fare from it. However, when I put the device in AP mode I am getting close to 400MB from all DECO when I am in the same roam that device stationed. I have FIOS gigabytes with all rooms hardwired with cat6. The house size is 5000 SQ. Previously, I use FIOS router for downstairs and Archer A7 for upstairs that provided me 300MB on each level.
Any idea how bumps the speed or change it different systems?

Runaway from this company.. just cheap buggy products
Sorry, you must have thought it said "Netgear" somewhere in the title. I've never had issues with TP-Link products, and I somehow get roped into setting up any network gear for all my family and friends. On the off chance that there's an issue with TP-Link gear, I just tell them to unplug it for a few seconds, and that always fixes it. That is rare though. Netgear stuff has always been more problematic, in my experience, both initially and long term.

If you are sure you won't be doing a lot of streaming (especially with multiple devices) or much gaming, you may not ever notice the difference.

I stream video but nothing too intensive, and I haven't bothered to run ethernet cables since moving into my current house and setting up mesh wifi last December. I intended to, and probably still will, but it hasn't been a problem. Just a 2-unit dual-band system here for a 2000 sq. foot ranch and full basement, though I will add a third or upgrade to a 3-unit system before next summer to better cover the back porch and yard.

Do you know if you can have a non-mesh 2.4GHz network but a mesh 5GHz network, and have them concurrently but on different ssid's?

I don't mind if the 2.4GHz isn't mesh, but I do need a separate ssid for the 2.4GHz.
Not with the mesh software. But since you are asking about 2.4g cameras, I have a slew of devices (cameras, home automation, etc) that all say "please use a different SSID for 2.4g" but thats just trash support hearsay that made it to print. I have not had a single 2.4g device fail to connect to my TP link mesh in matching ssid mode.

How does the S4 compare to Nest Wifi?
Nest doesn't support wifi 6 yet.
