However there are multiple studies that show melatonin is not a great supplement. Can lead to anxiety depression. And kills your dopaminergic drive aka less motivated to get moving and do stuff. I am currently still experimenting on whats best to use albeit small microdoses of melatonin did in fact work. (I bit a small peice off a 3mg pill..can easily last 5-10 nights but I'm not even worried if I throw the piece out)
Although like I previously mentioned, I no longer use it for the main fact that it can inhibit dopamine which far outweighs the sleep benefits.

It affects everyone a little different. I would say stop taking it for a week or 2 and then if needed start at 3mg for a week and then move up if you really need it.
Like all things in life moderation is key.

Bleeding disorders: Melatonin might make bleeding worse in people with bleeding disorders.
Depression: Melatonin can make symptoms of depression worse.
High blood pressure: Melatonin can raise blood pressure in people who are taking certain medications to control blood pressure. Avoid using it.
Seizure disorders: Using melatonin might increase the risk of having a seizure.
Transplant recipients: People who have had a transplant often take medications to suppress the immune system. Melatonin can increase immune function. This might interfere with the effects of some transplant medications.
As someone who dabbles in nootropics with nothing off limits, there are always people reporting some wild side effects and it's hilarious to me, because I'm always disappointed I didn't feel much at all. To see people going crazy over melationin? Goodness man, stop projecting. You have issues taking the lightest stuff aand can't handle anything, fine. Grown adults have been taking this and many other more heavy stuff for years and we're just fine. Often even better. Only thing that's disappointing about these pills, is that they aren't pressed pills. You can get away with eating half in that case and basically doubling your supply. But I used these before, same mg, and they're decent.
Only thing I suggest is not taking bendryl for sleep unless it's a last resort. It works extremely well, much better than melatonin, but that actually gives you fatigue and bad mood the next day. Not good sleep. Some people may be fine though. Everyone's different.

I ordered multiple bottles, but only got 25% off of 1. Normal?
Anyone have thoughts on the expiration date of Melatonin? OK to stock up and use for a year or two after they "expire"?

(Not a scientist or doctor) - Have researched melatonin... seems like a reasonable dose for a "once in a while" usage, but I'd be concerned if someone was taking this every single night.
I didn't think Melatonin was to be taken daily? Only when you are trying to alter your sleep cycle... or go to bed unusually early, etc.
I'm a night owl.. but a few times a week, try to catch up on sleep and take Melatonin. I don't think I'd feel comfortable taking 10mg every night...

You'll be fine. I've been taking 5mg for years. Nothing has "ruined" my sleep or health.

I was always wondering if splitting the pills would make it lose it's effect. what are the "pressed" pills?
