I think you can do better getting an older system off of Craigslist.
You can pretty much say that about everything here on SD. What's the point.

Can I connect two monitors to this?
It has 1 VGA and 1 HDMI. So, you can, but you need that VGA port in one of your monitors.

Been looking at this deal for last couple of days... Don't want win 11, but need dvd drive Frown
Need something like this, with optical drive, win 10, wifi, no need any drives - purely for torrent, web etc, connected to tv.
Would love to get one refurbished for 'bout $300. Any ideas where to find one?
Usb dvd drives should be less than 20$

Stop complaining and just upgrade the parts you want. It's a nice shell. Worth it if you need a computer NOW.
Dell's are near impossible to upgrade except for maybe memory.

Usually the motherboard and power supply are Dell specific, so usually upgrading GPU is impossible.

Yes it can support 2 monitors, via HDMI and VGA. If your second monitor doesnt support VGA you can buy a $5-10 adapter cable for VGA to HDMI.

Why does everyone just assume everyone buys computers for gaming? There are many other uses of a PC than for gaming. This is so obviously not a gaming PC. Dell has a line of PC's specifically for gaming if that is what you are into.

I bring up expandability and people immediately bring up how hard it would be to add gpu. There are many ways to "expand" a computer, ie memory and hard drive which would greatly benefit the computer (but still not make it for gaming). Are people that narrow minded to look at every computer deals as possible gaming rigs?

If you see Inspiron then you know already it's not for gaming.

Faster CPU, more RAM thats also faster speeds, extra 1TB HDD.

Yes its a better deal for $150 more, plus the costco return policy, but its definitely extra specs some people might not need. However that 1TB HDD, while not being worth too much extra, is definitely beneficial to older folks who just want to store pictures and videos and stuff on their PC without the worry of an external HDD, only having the 256GB SSD in the OP can be limiting if you like to save content.

Great PC!
So why the change from your original down vote of "Big word processor."?

I think a moderators should do their job here, this change completely changes the context of the up or down votes.

It's a desktop i5 cpu. It should run circles against most of the laptop under 1000 on SD. It will be more expandable too.
What.. no. You could easily find a laptop under 1000 that would crush this.

Just picked up a Dell XPS 8910 with i7 6700, 16gb ram, gtx 750ti for $200 off FB Marketplace. They go for about $350 on ebay. Used deals are still out there to match budgets 🤙

Of course you can, but I said most not all. I literally just searched for laptops on SD and the first three laptops i found, their cpu benchmarks are all less than this one (and they all cost more than 600). those benchmarks are also looking at max speed, but in reality most laptops are throttled most of the time, while desktops are less likely to be throttled.

My point is that people looking at this i5 and thinking it's not that powerful, but if you are taking gaming aside (it's not a gaming rig), it is pretty decent especially if you are use to using a laptop.

For it's price and intended market, it is more than powerful enough and will last quite a while (in terms of technology not reliability).
