I bought this, came with some scratches but I didn't mind. USB C charging works fine, but no graphics out from it. Hdmi out supports 1440p 120hz, so should support 4k 60hz (maybe? Lower chroma?).

Build quality is not super great. The bottom flexes when you hold it with one hand. Trackpad is small and inaccurate, borderline unusable, but I use this with external kb and mouse.

Ram is reported as 4x4gb, soldered. Extra m2 slot (sata only?) works fine, running an old Evo 850. The built in ssd is dramless and has pretty slow random r/w. Still better than a hard drive of course, but not even close to nvme.

Fan noise is ok. Seems to be almost always be on.

I clean installed windows 11, but the default installation has almost no bloatware.

Definitely budget build quality but unbeatable price for the cpu/ram/ssd.

Feel free to ask any questions. My only other laptops are mbps for reference.

3rd party warranty companies always fabricate a reason to not honor your warranty. Had the home depot 5 year warranty for a fridge and when manufacturer declined service, home depot also declined service. If they ever ask "why didnt you contact the manufacturer?" just say the product is out of warranty for manufacturer.

Not really a fan of refurb laptops but for $360 you get a lot of performance/specs for your money. This would be great for people that have no intention of gaming but have moderate general use/office workloads.

Original MSRP was $500.

Just a thought in regards to build quality, etc. Walmart offers a warranty which is backed by Allstate, and many here claim it's actually pretty good. You could do a 2-year warranty on that and if it craps out after 2 years then that's the same as an $800 laptop crapping out after 4 (per-dollar comparison).

That's why I was referencing the claims of others who appear to have had no issue with that process. But yes, that same logic would apply to your car/truck warranty(s), at some point you have to trust that the coverage will be honored as advertised.

3rd party warranties are notoriously porous

Pretty decent specs for $359. According to reviews it allows for usb-c charging, has a 2nd m.2 slot for an additional SSD. Over 10000 pass mark on the cpu. No backlit keyboard. 1080p screen. This one checks a lot of boxes.

According to reviews the 11th gen ones CAN charge from usb-c. https://gatewayusa.com/GWTN141-10.html

Also review by CNET says you can as well. https://www.cnet.com/tech/computi...p-returns/

When you put together this brand name (a shell of its past glory) and Walmart's reputation for service (an oxymoron), and being sprinkled with a meager 90-day warranty which is serviced by God-only-knows whom, this price is still too high to take a chance on, especially when you can get a decent brand-new laptop with a full manufacturer's warranty for not too much more.

Pretty good once you add the $75 3 yr warranty...but you could get that as well if you got it retail and had credit card protection so....not clear if its still a deal...
