Personally at that price point, I don't think this kit has any advantage over the Lowes Deal for $299

I suppose this Amazon kit is Made in the USA, but for $50 more you get the better drill (albeit larger), better large battery, and then a nice free tool.

Lowe's DCD998 is a nice tool and freebee is definitely a plus. However, it's way too big and heavy; perhaps excellent for tough jobs, but it weighs like a dumbbell. I compared the two at Lowe's before ordering from Amazon. Perhaps HD's Atomic model may be a better deal for some--I just liked the built quality and the feel at the store.
P.S. I have been following this model for a while, and never saw it at this price point!: Return window is open till end of January at Amazon. Peace
