This is overkill for a 4-cylinder isn't it?

It's actually recommended for small vehicles. It mentions V6 engines and smaller

This is the same shit as the Stanley brand. Its so generic. This still uses lead battery which is very weak. I have the stanley one for about 2 years and its useless now except for the pump. This price point is everyday price.

If lead batteries are weak which other kinds are better? Probably lithium or

At this price point I'd suggest looking into lithium jump packs. They are similar if not better price point than this(if you don't need the pump). Lithium battery has come a long way for the past 10 years. Lead batteries hasn't changed much.

There are some with pumps too for a bit more. I had to replace my Stanley with a no-name lithium jump and it has worked well for me so far.

I was just thinking that too, this looks like the Stanley one with red accents. Where's the costway one he was showing?

I got a lithium one for around 60$ its pretty compact and can easily bring back my v6. I have jump started my car more than 6 times on single charge I did almost an year ago.

Thanks for the link. That Gooloo 2000 was posted a few times this summer in the $50-$60 range and these idiots here were thumbing the deals down. Now I feel better about choosing it.

I've only used mine once but it jumped the neighbor's V8 Chevy truck no problem.

Vector was a good jump starter before Stanley Black & Decker bought it out. I had one that lasted over ten years. After the buyout, the Vector name disappeared for a long time. I think they use AGM battery's in them. AGM battery's are generally very durable. My oem original motorcycle battery was a Japan lead acid battery and it died at about 15 months. I replaced it with a no name AGM china battery that still works after 5 years. I am surprised to see the Vector name again. I don't know if this new Vector is as good as the old Vector.

IMHO nothing wrong with these. They all use the same battery; 18AH SLA. At this price it's basically the same as a replacement battery.

For those considering this starter, it is a good entry level starter. This model is the EXACT same model as the Walmart brand, everything down to the handlebars are the same, the only difference is color and the walmart one being 700A vs 800A (Which is questionable) and is currently on sale for $40. This works for 4 cylinder vehicles, but be warned if the battery is too drained you might get a good second or two of cranking it and nothing else before it runs out of juice. Tried on both a 98 Nissan and a 18 Elantra, both 4 cylinder.
