I'm too much of cheap basterd to pay monthly fees unfortunately so these cams are no go for me. Shame, as they seem very decent for the price…

It's ONLY free if you're using a USB stick to host the storage data locally.

"Accounts that were created before April 15, 2020 continue to have the original 7200 seconds per Sync Module of basic cloud storage. XT2, XT and Indoor (gen 1) cameras receive 7200 seconds of basic could storage per Sync Module, free for life. This is separate from a subscription plan. When one of these cameras is set up on a Sync Module 2, it is assigned 7200 seconds of basic cloud storage, to be used when a subscription is not active. "
Read closely about the part how that 7200 seconds for XT2 are separate from subscription and used when a subscription is not active. Again, I have these XT2 cameras from a recent Woot deal and am confirming that it works exactly how that reads. I have free cloud storage for all my XT2 cameras. I added newer Minis and do NOT have free for those because my account is not grandfathered. I moved the Minis to a Sync Module 2 with local storage for them now. The XT2 cameras remain on their Sync Module 1 with free 7200s cloud storage for life.
Also, the XT2 cameras are discontinued and not even on Amazon anymore. The replacement model, Blink Outdoor, does require a subscription. That is what you are looking at on Amazon, as the actual cameras look very, very similar. But in this case the older XT2 model is considered to be better because of the free cloud storage for life and similar image quality.
Edit: Also, do I need to buy a Sync module to use this?
Thank and Appreciate your help

Accounts made today for example, will include the two-hours of free storage for the Blink XT2's, but that storage will be limited to those legacy devices, and not the newer Blink offerings.
So yes, you're still getting free storage buying today and creating an account today with these Blink XT2's.

Can people not read. It's literally right there. Why the heck are people still confused and arguing about subscriptions. XT2 or older units, you get free cloud. Everything newer? Subscription or Sync Module 2 with a USB. Grandfathered in? You also get it free.
Also this kit comes with a Sync Module 1, which has no local storage capability AT ALL. Not a huge issue on its own, until you decided you want to add newer blink cameras to this, like Blink Mini, Blink 3 etc, and you also don't have a grandfather plan, then oopsies, those camera would be worthless motion detectors that does not record anything without a subscription or buying a Sync Module 2 for 35 bucks (which is why Costco's 3 camera + sync module 2 deal for about 100 bucks is pretty nice, if you want to stay with the ecosystem).
Also. Seriously. F-ck Bezos for being a total dick head with this.
Edit: Also, do I need to buy a Sync module to use this?
Thank and Appreciate your help
The problem is that the older XT2 cams come with first generation Sync Modules that don't support USB storage. This means you need to pay a monthly subscription fee or the cams are relatively useless. (Just supports Live Streaming without subscription)
If these XT2 cams came with an USB storage Sync Module I wouldn't hesitate to purchase as the price seems like a deal IMO.
