Unless you really want this because it's Xbox branded, or want the ridiculously over EQ'ed bass on these, you can do a lot better for a similar price. The HyperX Cloud Alpha goes on sale for $60 often and is better in pretty much every way - detachable mic, detachable cord, better build quality, more comfortable, and more neutral sound profile. Among many other options.

Does anyone know if this is still compatible with the Xbox stereo headset adapter? The device that plugs into the controller and allows you to fade the chat & game volume.

I don't see why not - it works with any 3.5mm input, just like the controller's 3.5mm jack. Only thing you lose in comparison is mic monitoring, which I guess is built into the xbox software's controls but not the adapter firmware.

Do you have a link? I checked four different "Hyper X Cloud" headsets on Amazon and some say Cloud S, but all of them are $70-$90+ in their price history on 3 camels
