$220 here at Saint Louis Park, MN location (Minneapolis suburb). Thanks for the heads-up - I'll keep tab. If it drops to ~$179 or less, will definitely pull the trigger. I have a very nice Gigabyte Z590 motherboard just sitting useless (Newegg forced me to buy it as a bundle with the RTX-3080).

Retailers want the positive impression of price matching so you buy locally, but have so many restrictions that they generally don't price match anything. Walmart won't price match their own website.

At this point, I'd prefer retailers just put a "Price as marked. All sales final." sign like a flea market for better transparency.

In my experience (NJ) MC doesn't even match Newegg price when there's a coupon code required, which is pretty much every NE deal nowadays. The cashier actually recommended me to place an order with NE right away (crucial RAM)

I bought this chip one year ago for $350 at Microcenter. I can't believe how fast the price depreciated.

Try to have them ( Microcenter) price match Newegg, I did that when my son and I were shopping for his build. They have the manager come over and adjust the price to match Newegg and he didn't bat an eye about it.

As I type this, I am waiting in line to check out at the Tustin location for my CPU with an MSI Z490-A Pro motherboard. Long lines, but there appear to be more of these in stock. Go straight to the back left of the store and ask for an employee to help you. Good luck!

I was going to get an Alder Lake, but heck my i5-10400 is good enough for everything I want to do.
