Also, being taller folks (wife is 6'3" I'm 6'9") we used 2x6 on the bottom and 2x4's in the middle area. Then we put 2x8's on the top front/rear face, and 2x6's on the top sides. Then we ran 2x6's across it instead of plywood on top. I made her a few leg vises and they mounted easily to the wider board.

So get creative with it... just DO NOT use the screws they give you. Like pretty much all things, the screws that came with it were junk. Buy some good #9-2-½" screws, and it'll work great.

This is tempting! Need a workbench for the garage. I don't have a miter saw though and I suck with keeping cuts straight when it comes to handsaws... Guess I should grab a miter box haha

Big lumber store sometimes sell precut 2x4s, might find sizes to work, otherwise, plan it our and have them make the cuts.

Forgot they have all the cutting machines to do all that there! Btw what's the advantage of using this over just building an all wood table if you have a template? It just makes it slightly easier and less time consuming?

Most of the 2x4s at the stores is bowed or not flat. How do I get around this? Will it affect my build?

Ok I caved and ordered one. Most likely this is going to end up sitting in the garage for a long time or forever. If I get around to starting on it I'll probably do something wrong and then it'll be sitting, in pieces, on the side of the garage....

have this, nice kit and makes a great garage bench. I used treated for the legs as they meet my garage floor/wet and finished them as extra flex seal "feet" if you will.

Shelves are good and make great basement setup to customize to size. A little creativity for support braces if they are long

I like the strongtie stuff better. Typically I just build my shelving units and workbenches the oldschool way, I custom build them so 64 quart storage containers fit perfectly 3 per shelf. Using good joining techniques are all you need to support a lot of weight for workbenches. 6x6 corner posts, notched so 2x6s will fit on them. Cover with 2x8s on their sides. The thing can hold a lawn tractor 😂
