Cleaning isn't that hard, but I would get a dust cover for it (I have some of the brand HOMEST from Amazon that I use on all my other appliances that's been decent.
Get "food grade grease" so you can really clean it and replace the grease which keeps it running and from junk getting in the workings.

If you are slicing meat, it's a good idea to partially freeze the meat first. This will make the meat a stiff instead of blubber texture. On a small slicer like this I'd make sure it wasn't tooo frozen or it will stop the blade and cause problems. I would also cut the meat in shapes that made for smaller slices so the moter was not taxed, and for safety. If you are going to do something unsafe it should probably not be when you are using a slicer.
I also would like to get a slicer for korean BBQ.
I'm not knowledgeable,. but under impression NO low price slicers are worth while. I don't know for sure and am actively wishing I'm wrong.
I'd much prefer a 100% stainless steel slicer for hygiene and longevity. Fat binds to plastic so plastic appliances like slicers creep me out, I don't enjoy washing them. Also, a little soft scrub makes stainless steal so joyfully clean.
