Not bad. Holding out for Smart Clock 2 w/charging base for the same price. Already have the original, Essentials and the 8" and 10" smart displays by Lenovo. Would actually love to see the Essentials with a charging base, but I know it won't happen, what I do know is Lenovo Displays/clocks have a track record of going on sale/clearance in short time.

I paid $18 for the Gen 1. Not much a difference other than the base.

One of the clock faces does not work on mine the analogue. Wish it did.

Can this be set to blank at night if kept besides the bed (so that there is no light from display) but with morning alarm active / on?

So I see that these can handle camera streams... But no mention of other streaming video like Hulu/YouTube that I notice. Seems like the hardware could handle it, if it's capable of checking your cameras... Anyone know if this can be modded to sideload video apps?

IMHO, this is not a 'smart clock' unless it uses the internet to keep time, which it does not appear to do. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Umm it connects to wifi and streams music. I've never had to set the time (does it automatically when it connects to the internet) did you think you set it manually?

My first gen clock was a piece of garbage. It will randomly set alarms of its own, which of course would go off at 3-4 am.
My 4 year old won't even let us plug it back in.
