Makeup/female products is hard.
Creating male/female skincare products is mostly a marketing thing.
A lot of the time they are the same product just scented differently.

There's lots of great moisturizers that help rehydrate or restore skin from dryer states. Light mists or liquids don't retain or lock moisture back into outer layers of skin alone and actually can bind to water in the skin and then let it evaporate, increasing water loss. But if layered and locked in via effective moisturizers, you'll be plump and hydrated!

Beware that they also have salicylic acid in base or the cartridge which is a BHA/exfoliating agent which increases skin sensitivity to sun rays.

Unless it's someone fairly young (teens, maybe very early 20s) or someone who never uses a similar product, I'd talk to them before buying anything. Or buy them what they're already using (assuming they've either praised the product, or have been using it for a while).
Otherwise, the gift may not be something that gets used. Although since Clinique is a safer option for people with any skin (or scent) issues, it's more likely to get passed on to someone who can use it.
