Own this and its awesome but note that your seatpost will need enough length to accommodate this as well as a tail light. Also, doesn't look as clean as if you have just the 515 (radar/light combo) for those that care.

It's better than a mirror. It alerts to cars that you cant even hear or see yet. It shows you how many cars, their relative speed to you (via what color your head unit flashes), alerts you when it's clear (head unit flashes green), etc.

I had serious reservations about buying because of the price (I got the 515), but it's amazing.

The two use cases where this doesn't make sense is if you are in a heavily populated city with perpetual cars passing you (the alerts would be constant and annoying) or if you exclusively ride trails (unnecessary).

This looks interesting, but I'm not sure I totally get it. My understanding of this is that it tells you there are vehicles behind you, and about the distance away. I don't really care that cars are behind me, but would love to know if they are too close to the shoulder so that I should change my line.i have a wahoo ELEMNT. Would it be able to do that?

Was just looking at varias last night and debating whether I should use my gearup 20% coupon on one, still in my cart. Great price here based on what I've seen after monitoring the past few weeks. Think I'll keep shooting for the 515 though, 2 birds with one stone with a lights is nice.

Anyone know if these will fit on aero seat posts? More specifically a venge/allez sprint post? Some mounts with rubber straps can be stretched just enough to fit, some come no where close. Don't use a specialized saddle, so couldn't use the swat mount.

I have the 515 and it comes with 3 separate shapes for the mount to attach to. One is extremely aero. I haven't heard of anyone having compatibility issues.

I have the non-light version and will probably buy the lighted version as soon as there is a deal on it. One other point I haven't seen made yet is that the radar has to be mounted pretty much in the middle of your seatpost because if it's too low it will pick up your own rear tire, and if you use an under-seat bag there really isn't enough vertical room on your post to squeeze in the bag, radar, and separate light. Problem is solved by having the light integrated into the radar. As others have said, I think this is the coolest thing since sliced bread. Really makes me feel much safer and it's extraordinarily accurate.

I have both. If you have already a good tail light and you ride 4-6 hours. 315 is enough. However if you do centuries, and need a better tail light. I'll go with 515.

The 515 seems safer to me with the light. Very easy to remove. Just twist off.

True. You don't need it but after having a few close calls it allows me to ride with more awareness.
Constantly looking in a mirror or turning my head to see behind me isn't exactly safe.

Absolutely true! Just like you don't need to wear seatbelt, have an airbag, automatic braking, etc when driving. Need? No.

Getting a heads up on a quiet country road and a car zooms up on you and you can move over a foot or two? Even if it just helps me avoid close calls, it's worth it for that slight increase chance to make it home safely.

Does anyone know if this has to be attached to the seat post? I have a pack on my rack that would be in the way. For that reason I have my rear light mounted on one of the rack struts. Could this also be mounted that way?

Piling on to the "Get the 515" crowd. Even if you do shorter rides, it's real nice to not have to charge both this and a tail light. Plus the 515 gets better battery life, so you're charging even less often.
