I still like the Wen11000, for $50 more you get 11000 starting watts/8350 running watts on gasoline and 9500 starting watts/7500 running watts on propane (over 10% more power for about 5% more money) ..........

https://www.amazon.com/WEN-DF1100...den&sr=1-1

...........regardless both are good generators, and this day in age it's become pretty much of a necessity, especially here in Texas with our lousy power grid!! And when the power goes out so does the gas stations, and luckily they both run on propane which you can keep in storage forever as it pretty much has a indefinite shelf life, unlike gasoline.

Non-inverter, meaning it will not be as efficient, and also could harm electronic devices. Dual fuel means it can run on propane, but not natural gas. Not a deal breaker, but not a game changer either, at least for those who don't have large lp tank. BBQ tank is not enough to run this thing for any extended outage

Dual fuel also means if you dont have enough propane you can run it on gasoline also, and both the Champion and the Wenn are dang near big enough to power an entire small home (as long as you dont get too crazy) unlike the weenie inverter generators I keep seeing posted on here. Also I've powered my home plenty of times in the past 20yrs with non inverter generators days at a time, thru the Texas freeze, hurricanes, tropical storms, ect and I've yet to harm electronics! I've ran big screen TV's, stereos, computers, ham radios, ect without any problems.

Inverter generators such as this [wenproducts.com] or this [acmetools.com] might not be as much power, but they are still plenty powerful and somewhat reasonably priced, at least wen. I definitely had issue with electronics on a non-inverter generator, when UPS was not taking the power supply and refused to charge because it was slightly off 60hz.

With generator as large as this, you will see another problem: it will waste power because:

a) bad waveform will make everything that has an engine in it to work suboptimally, it may not break, but it will surely heat up more than normal
b) in order to sustain 60hz, generators have to spin at a constant rate, regardless of load. This translates into additional inefficiencies

All of that combined with large generator size means you are wasting a lot of fuel, which during emergencies is hard to come by.

There's surely time and place for larger generators, but... there are considerations, that's all I'm saying

I've been looking at this one since it's tri-fuel and natural gas is pretty readily available here (and survived the texas freeze without failure in my area). But not sure if I can just split the natural gas outlet for my water heater to power this (we can do without hot water for a few days if needed).

For electronics, I read that the potential problems mainly happen on startup/shutdown of the generator and the way to avoid it is simply to not plug those devices in until it was already running smoothly.
