...........regardless both are good generators, and this day in age it's become pretty much of a necessity, especially here in Texas with our lousy power grid!! And when the power goes out so does the gas stations, and luckily they both run on propane which you can keep in storage forever as it pretty much has a indefinite shelf life, unlike gasoline.
Inverter generators such as this [wenproducts.com] or this [acmetools.com] might not be as much power, but they are still plenty powerful and somewhat reasonably priced, at least wen. I definitely had issue with electronics on a non-inverter generator, when UPS was not taking the power supply and refused to charge because it was slightly off 60hz.
With generator as large as this, you will see another problem: it will waste power because:
a) bad waveform will make everything that has an engine in it to work suboptimally, it may not break, but it will surely heat up more than normal
b) in order to sustain 60hz, generators have to spin at a constant rate, regardless of load. This translates into additional inefficiencies
All of that combined with large generator size means you are wasting a lot of fuel, which during emergencies is hard to come by.
There's surely time and place for larger generators, but... there are considerations, that's all I'm saying

For electronics, I read that the potential problems mainly happen on startup/shutdown of the generator and the way to avoid it is simply to not plug those devices in until it was already running smoothly.
