Walmart has the same thing for the same $682.40. Different model #s. The Walmart version comes with the cover, the Amazon does not. I asked on chat Champion if there's a difference and here's what they said: "They are the same unit, just different models depending on the retailer. The 201040 is also a newer model."

Here's the links on Champion:

So, this for $682 or a gas only Westinghouse for $458? What do you think?

3...2...1 someone is going to recommend a tiny gas only inverter as an alternative to this because of bigfoot, err THD, might hurt "sensitive electronics" according to a guy on reddit

BTW. great price.

I'm seeing $682.40 (first time seeing a better price than that listed on the post).

Anyone know if Champion has a reputable customer service during troubleshooting/repair needs?

Was on the fence but at $682.40 and having installed a transfer switch earlier this spring, I'm pulling the trigger. Thanks for pointing out the price change.

Don't forget that you should run on solar and battery lipo generator and that that these are old school *yawn*

I do know someone who had good quality customer service with champion so the warranties are legit not YMMV (assuming of course you're not one of the what is oil , run generator indoors ,etc that modern life has failed to naturally deselect) they also have service centers so check if there's one near you.

So this cannot use the gas line that go into the house? Can only use with the BBQ gas tank? For dual fuel it is still a bit picky with the fuel.

I don't think you two are talking about the same thing. I think WooHoo2You saying how this generator is not produce a nice smooth power and could harm sensitive devices (aka stupid device that is picky and doesn't have circuit to clean and smoother out the uncertain/unreliable power it gets).

While you (reelbusy) talking about 'lets save the planet by making everything unbearably expensive and unavailable and eventually to kill all human'. laugh out loud I'm assuming that's what you saying because solar and batteries aren't producing steady reliable power either. Full sun or fully charge they produce lots of power and than when it's not full sun or fully charge it's power drop.

Correct we were not talking about the same thing however the same SD phenomenon. I was joking about the inevitable post(S) recommending an apples to oranges inverter in place of this much larger generator that has a completely different use case. The reasoning is always the always invoked yet never proven...."danger" to certain electronics. Reelbusy was alluding to another useless recommendation that always pops up; "get a solar generator" (which maxes out at a few hundred watts as opposed to buying a gas 10KW gennie). Another post which does not belong citing a bunch of different reasons no one would buy a large generator for.

Perhaps a dumb question, but could this be converted to use natural gas?

I was able to do that with my smoker and would be able to swap lines from smoker to generator easily if so.

I don't see any dual or tri fuel kits for this, it's new so something like that may take time. And because it's a 3 year champion warranty i'd not mess with that till after that. They have a good warranty and service centers which is also why they are usually more doe
I did find this kit with a quick search.
