QLED isnt an attempt to "fake" oled.

While the word OLED describes the display technology, QLED describes the type of LED screen this is which means it uses quantum dot technology to achieve a wider range of color and saturation across the color space.

I'm no expert but referencing from my ks8000 this is a nice looking tv.
I have the KS8500, curved version of KS8000. It looks similar? I love my KS8500.

A week before I bought a Samsung and the picture was horrible. Retuned it for this tv.
I bought this Tv a few days ago. Amazon had it for $849 and BB priced matched it. This tv is way better than anything else this size for the price point. Samsung, LG doesn't have anything for this price range and rtings.com rates it decent. I'm happy with this purchase. Not using the smart tv part of it. Just hooked up my Apple TV 4K. It's super bright and looks amazing

I agree with you that the word led tv in general is a bull crap. It should always be called led backlit lcd display.
That said, quantium dot led is actually a legitimate improvement over white led in that it doesn't use color filter, and each pixel actually emitt their own RGB light from the blue led backlit.

Ultimately, blue backlit isn't even necessary for quantium dot to produce RGB light. With proper material and voltage, they can actually be pixel level colors without burn in. This is the ultimate display tech that Samsung is pushing toward in the next decade.

Ordered one of these for Tuesday delivery. My space would fit the 65U6GR better and I like Roku, but both Costco and BB do not have any to sell. Never used Android smart tv before (LG OLED elsewhere in the house)... but hopefully kids like it, as they love Youtube.
yeah i see people keep mentioning this special U6GR but alas, just imaginary unicorn item.

I bought Hisense h9F 65 inches last year and it has been serve well. It does has some issues like HDMI handshake every now and then and some lag due to limited RAM. Other than that, the pictures quality is great. As for sound I never rely on on board speaker. My basic principles is not to buy TV over $1k as the value will decrease quickly.

I have a hisense 65H9D which I got as a warranty replacement for a Hisense 65H8C that had horrible backlight bleed. The 65H9D also has pretty bad backlight bleed, but the biggest problem is that it developed intermittent power issues within days. Sometimes it turns on and works fine and sometimes I have to go unplug it, plug it back in... Wait a bit, and then turn it on. It's very annoying. Hisense eventually refunded me my purchase price and told me to just keep the TV. The experience with those 2 TVs led to the decision that I would never buy Hisense ever again. But this TV seems well rated and great price etc. But then I see the top Amazon review showing horrible backlight bleed and it makes me concerned all over again. Are you all comfortable with that bleed and never plan to watch in a dark room?

I'm in the same boat too. These are cheap Chinese brands so if they work they work but if they don't then good luck. I'd stick with Costco for such brands.

i really dont have an eye for this stuff but im not dissapointed in my purchase. I just think for the price its the best you can get at this time. Like others have said its all about the panel lottery and i have no idea the lifespan of this tv.
