Just don't turn on the Multi User experimental feature in settings. In the latest firmware v34, it is now giving you an error when you try to run the same app at the same time on a single account. Even for games that explicitly allow you to do this.

Hope they fix it as for now it has ruined my 4-player Walkabout Mini Golf plans. We're already done it before, but v34 will break it if you turn on that setting, even once, and then turn it off again.

Best place to buy is Best Buy. You get $50 credit and if you have a credit card another $10 credit.
Target Redcard would disagree

I thought this deal was live on Amazon now? It's not letting me apply the OCULUS50 code at checkout. I know it was originally 11/25 but it no longer says that in the OP/Wiki and it sounds like people are buying them now, I thought they caved since all other stores are starting the sale today.

edit: Sorry, didn't see the box saying I'd get $50 credit in an email.

I went with the Mystical80 approach. Signed up for Amazon Visa, got instant approval and $200 gift card. Did promo for first reload onto that gift card of $100, got $10 bonus added. Used OCULUS 50 code ($50 credit back), used Oculus referral link from someone in this thread ($30 back upon Oculus activation).

Total out of pocket: $100 plus tax. I will be left with $60 in Amazon credit and $30 in Oculus credit, so effective cost = $10 plus tax.

If you use a Redcard you only get 5% off 299-50=249, and it doesn't include tax. $12.49 discount.
If you use Discover card with 5% Target category this quarter, you get 5% off the order total 299, including tax. $14.95 minimum, $15.88 in my case.

Splitting dollars but hey, this is SD.

I just purchased via Amazon and was able to apply the coupon code and see the 50 credit before purchasing.

Ah, that's what I would normally do, but wasn't sure if they were tracked by serial like some consoles are.
I bought it from Target and tried having them price match and they would not. They actually suggested buying and returning which I found odd. Granted if you're already using the old one I don't know how that works with the serial number matching. I plan on trying it though

Also think I'm going to get the Allstate protection plan this time. I've already banged it on the ceiling fan a couple times

Yeah it can do that just fine. You can do this wirelessly with Airlink over wifi, or you can buy a long USB-C cable - it doesn't include one. The cable is more reliable and will have fewer issues with latency, but of course, then you're tethered. They sell an official USB-C cable, but it's $80 which is completely ridiculous. I use this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098399...ct_details [amazon.com]

Note this is a USB-A to USB-C cable, and it'll have to be a USB 3.1 port to work. You can get a USB-C to USB-C cable instead, but my PC doesn't have USB-C so I went with this one.
Perfect explanation.
