Just don't turn on the Multi User experimental feature in settings. In the latest firmware v34, it is now giving you an error when you try to run the same app at the same time on a single account. Even for games that explicitly allow you to do this.

Hope they fix it as for now it has ruined my 4-player Walkabout Mini Golf plans. We're already done it before, but v34 will break it if you turn on that setting, even once, and then turn it off again.

You'll probably get banned. Make a real one with your real name, set everything to private, and just don't use it.
FB has an AI "meta" system that tracks everyone who knows you and all data associated with you by name. This creates a profile on you whether you use it or not. You should just look at them as the FBI or tech wing of government.

Not that knowing this matters. Most people will not care until it is too late to opt-out.

Correct, and it does that whether you make a fake account or not, but if you have to contact FB because of an account issue or something and the account isn't in your name, you might end up bricked.

But yeah, I noticed that on a fake FB account I made years ago that "people you may know" was sure enough all my friends and coworkers, I assume they track it not by name since I created a fake one, but by phone contacts and IP addresses as people whose home networks or work network I share show up.

I got email from Amazon and $50 discount is indeed showing at checkout for Amazon.com products (not 3rd party, direct from Amazon.com)

It says "This credit expires on January 14, 2022"

I bought 1 x 128GB and 1 x 256GB version but I got only 1 $50 credit. At ordering page/checkout of oculus it was showing "Free $50 Digital Credit for Amazon.com" for both items so I thought I would get 2 x $50 credit. Might need to wait or ask Amazon support about it. I will just return 1 item then.

I'm new to FB and Quest 2. My questing is regarding the "Oculess" that allows you to use it without a FB account. I need to understand how future updates work and what are the risks. My quest arrives today. I know that i wont be creating a FB account but i do have an old Occulus Rift account when i owned one. I will certainty look into this Oculess program more today.

For those got the Oculus from BestBuy, Were you able to use the $50 gift card ? My friend tried use mine today, it didn't work on their website.
I THINK you're not allowed to use gift cards when there's another gift card in your order. I had a $20 GC I wanted to use, but since I had the $50 attached, I couldn't. You could chat with support to confirm, but I'm pretty sure that's the issue.

Has anyone tried to use the credit to buy physical gift cards to other stores (assuming you have no need for $50 in amazon credit in the next 60 days? If that is a concern to you, give it a shot.
I have bought non-Amazon egc and physical gc with amazon credit in the past.

You are in Facebook as one entity. Independent of your Facebook accounts.

It's called Ghost account. Those who never sign up with any Facebook accounts, have a ghost profile , just one, and they are tracked like everyone else by Facebook. There are tens of ways to track you, the first one is your phone with forced Facebook app you can't usually delete, then there are ads by Facebook and Google planted on almost every website to "monitize them" aka, track YOU, then there are people around you who have Facebook at your job home, friends and family and the microphone works all the time.

If you create ten Facebook profiles, you end up with only one profile at Facebook. All of those ten linked to one.

If you create no Facebook account, once again you will end up with one profile at Facebook. You are tracked like a ghost and a very clear profile is built around you.

Most of this is done through your PC browser and phone browser apps that's why everyone should delete Chrome, Firefox and only use Brave. Brave is the only browser that has done a fantastic job blocking out all trackers from Google, Facebook and Twitter. Trackers that have very little to do with advertising and more to do with spying on you. And you pay for all that through your own data that you pay for. Do start using Brave, never install addons and make sure you delete Chrome and all of its spyware addon's.

With that said, if you don't do anything wrong, or your name is John, Joshua, William, Joseph, Matthew, then probably there isn't much to worry about. If you cheat on your taxes, then you should worry about that. If you lie to get unemployment while working for cash or other government benefits, or only or mostly use cash or crypto or xmr, then you should worry about being tracked.

Remember, it's not just you, it's everyone around you who has any Meta apps (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Oculus) and Chrome anyway. It's all the websites you visit that have Google adsense that you can't avoid unless you use Brave. Firefox and Chrome addon's don't come close to cutting off trackers.

It looks like the 50 dollar target gift card was subtracted from the purchase price, and now I just got an email saying I have a 50 dollar gift card that has been applied to my account. Anyone else buy through target having the gift card show up twice? It's currently pending on my bank info but it's showing 50 dollars less, so we'll see if it sticks.
