Just don't turn on the Multi User experimental feature in settings. In the latest firmware v34, it is now giving you an error when you try to run the same app at the same time on a single account. Even for games that explicitly allow you to do this.

Hope they fix it as for now it has ruined my 4-player Walkabout Mini Golf plans. We're already done it before, but v34 will break it if you turn on that setting, even once, and then turn it off again.

The cable to connect to PC is $80
Can I just use a regular USB-C or is the $80 special in some way?

That's what we did. I have so much we can't even find stuff to spend it on. (Not thousands but hundreds). No consoles are ever in stock.

Got shipping notification this morning. They ship FedEx so it will be a week before it gets here and will likely be 2 days late from what the initial delivery date says it will be. 😂 It's a Christmas gift but I was going to set it up and see if I could find some people needing a referral to stock up on some games, but oh well.

Someone answered many of their usb c wont work except a Sony camera one thats 3ft. Oculus site also mentions you need a good quality cable and didn't say you have to use theirs.

I don't know if "any" cable will work, but there are many alternatives online for much less.

With that said, people have reporting surprisingly very good results with the wifi streaming from a PC, which eliminates the need for a USB C cable entirely. It might be worth trying that first.

Hello all ... would appreciate some advice. I am looking for a VR headset to mainly play VR games purchased via Steam. I downloaded the VR app from Steam that verified that my PC is a candidate system for VR. Also, I wear glasses as I am nearsighted. Question: would this be a good candidate system to try out VR for the first time, especially with glasses. If not, what would you recommend?

Thank you ...

If you wear glasses do your self a favor and get prescription inserts for them. The cheapest option is to get prescription glasses from zenni for about $15 and 3d print holders for them. Here are 2 3d print designs on thingverse:

Instructions on what zenni glasses to get are there as well. You can also purchase printed 3d holders for about $15.

My Quest2 came in yesterday. All I can say is WOW! I knew it would be cool but it really blew me away. I was giddy playing with the pull-tab rockets and the blimp in First Steps. Paintball in RecRoom is great too!

Thanks! Was wondering if these lenses are even needed. Do you have any idea what the distance is from the display to the eye? If it is fairly close, inserts/lenses might not be needed at all. What do you think?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but the 3d printed lenses put the lens a few 1-2 mm away from the oculus lens. With this setup you don't have to use the glass spacers that the oculus comes with so this puts your eyes closer to the oculus lens which is what you want. Plus there the is the convenience factor as well. It's so much easier to take the device on/off without having to wear glasses.

I had my buddies over this past Saturday and when they tried it out, they felt the same way. Neither had tried VR before but went right out and bought one the next day because they were so enamored with the experience.
