It was in the big Holiday flyer I got in the mail last month. Here it is on pg 4 of the Black Friday flyer https://blackfriday.com/ads/black...lub?page=4

The SUA4000iED is the same 3500 running watts, same 223 cc engine but 2000 watts extra starting watts. Likely supercedes this model. with parts are backwards compatible. There's only a tiny chance imo a clearance price better than this may pop up after the holidays. If undecided then I'd buy in the early am and see how long they take to sell out with option to cancel later.

I don't recall ever seeing this electric start on sale before. Been following the price for a year. The electric start is often o.o.s. The pull start model is the one they put on sale. It was briefly $535 last April at sams.

For pull start two of the 98 cc igen2500 give 4400 watts run when paralleled and has been one of the best deals this yeat at $400 each but who can say if or when that deal will come back. The Pulsar 1800 watt was second best inverter deal at $280 but I really like the digital data panel and larger engine.

While you and I may prefer hand carry light duty inverters the deal generator adresses an entirely different user base. Besides, the cost of two dual fuels such as the Champion "2500" well exceeds that of this deal generator even before the required accessories to make them work are added in.

Remote electic start stop isn't possible with two 1800 -2500 runninhg watt ( on gasoline ) i-gens.

I dismissed the negative reviews after learning that most could be traced back to a loose connection at some point in production which was easily resolveable. igen4500's have also been delivered with loose connectors except those require a labor intensive disassembly to fix. No matter which i-generator is purchased if it is set up and run hard upon receipt and performs as advertised during the return period chances are that it will continue to do so for years with proper maintenance.

The $150 savings before tax brings the price to the lowest point I've seen for these specs. For the past year it has been nearly impossible to find a dual fuel igen4500DF in stock. This A-ipower has also been o.o.s at Sams. If this configuration is required then the choice today is whether or not to spend at least $350 + tax more to get the igen4500. Saving this much for these features is slick.

I've been looking at the other A-Ipower 3800 watt generator from Sam's for about a month now. It's the one for $659.00 without dual fuel or electric start. I really like the control panel on these and from the one YT video I could find on it these seem exceptionally quiet.

The concerning thing about these two generators though is they are not even listed on A-Ipower's website. I have a feeling support for these will be non-existent for when you'd ever need parts. I worry about that really nice control panel going out for instance.

To the OP, where did you find the info for this one day sale? I get emails from Sam's and never saw anything about this.

I think getting parts would be pretty unlikely. Less likely than getting support.

Yeah, I may have to pick this one up. Even though the dual fuel and electric start don't matter much to me now, who knows what the future holds. For only $90 more than the non dual fuel, non electric start model, it would be crazy to pass up.

I still don't like how neither of their larger inverter generators are even so much as mentioned on the A-Ipower website.

igen4500DF 4500/4050 (gas) 3700/3300 (propane) has the same features but is $350 more. For the extra $ per G-B you get better fuel economy 0.23 gph vs 0.37 gph @50% load, a larger tank for twice the run time @50%. Quieter at 52dBA vs 58 dBA.

edit: A senior exec at Westinghousr Outdoor Power told me that they are looking in to offering a 240V 4-5kw inverter which makes connecting to a house easier however the cost and weight may be prohibitive for the customer base they seek to serve. Midsize enclosed 120V inverters like the deal one and igen4500 adress a niche market mainly campers, sportsman, racers, tradesmen, event attendees who require quiet 3-4kw generators with remote elctric start and dual fuel capabiliy. I've read a few user reviews which claim that the SUA3800iED does better at elevation than other models but haven't verified. If portability matters both are too heavy for many to pick up and load in a truck by themselves.

I have looked at this one more than a year ago when I was shopping for an inverter generator. The spec looks good and the regular price was $900-$1000 at a few vendors. However, it just came out at that time and the few reviews were horrible, Even I could get it at ~$800 at that time, I decided not to go for it. I hope the reviews would get better by now. Having a near 100 pounds ~4000W inverter generator is not as convenient as with two ~50 pound ~2000W ones.

I'm clueless...so for an energy blackout, would this run a home refrigerator and other smallish appliances or not even close?

This will power most home fridges and other small stuff just fine, you can probably get by fine with a 2500W or 2000W as well.

A senior executive at Westinghousr Outdoor Power told me that they are working on a next gen with 220V which makes connecting to a house easier. I have the westinghouse 4500DF and it is awesome for my camper. A bit big for tailgating and other things. What I really wanted was the same thing with a 240V output so I could run my well and sewer pump through a transfer switch at the house but they don't exist. The only closed frame inverter I've seen with a 240 outlet is the predator 9500 from harbor freight and its $2k.

Lifan , Honda and others offer sweet 240V fully enclosed inverter generators but this technology is a big ticket item. As this is a budget deal forum the compromise is noisy lower cost open frame models. If like me you only need to pump water for less than an hour a day then consider using a dedicated and low cost wgen5300dfv or similar for that purpose. You can spend a bit more and get remote start stop. Saving big on generation may require separating circuits and adding controls if you wish to avoid manually plugging unplugging or the use of extension cords. Every residence and farm requires its own solution.

Remote electic start stop isn't possible with two 1800 watt igens. Then there is the very high cost of purchasing two small ones configured for dual fuel not to mention the LP hook-up mess they would require. A parallel kit is also required for this solution which is ungainly and taking the total cost even higher.

The parallel cable is easy to make and around $50 if purchase. For propane connection, you can get a split hose if you need to share one tank. It is far more convenient than moving around a near 100 pound inverter even with wheels unless you are just moving it in and out from the garage to use at home. I got a Sportsman dual fuel 1800W for below $400 and it works great. If it is a backup power source for emergency, electric or remote starting is not that important. I ran the 1800W inverter for several days during a recent blackout to power a chest freezer and a French door fridge. It is easy to upgarde with an additional unit when needed.

Does anyone know what it would take to run this off of natural gas rather than propane? Do you just need to enlarge the propane inlet?

3800 watts?? I bought a 8750 watt generator a month ago on here with an inverter for $800. It's not dual fuel, but gas is fine with me
