Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Really just depends what and how frequently you plan to store on it.
I bought and transferred some photos. It was kind of annoying taking 20 minutes. But accessing them is fine now, it was just that initial transfer which was a pain point.
I wouldnt use it for any super large files you need to access often. But as extras you rarely use for small files more than fine.

Is a good or bad thing if I'm just looking to grab as an extra?

I bought a 128 gb one 5 years ago for $20 from Staples. After a couple years it wouldn't show up on my computer. No signs of dying or nothing. I thinkone of the pins is burned out, and I'm thinking of sending it to one of those hard ware experts for a $300+ to get all my data off of it.
I need a good flash drive to play 1080 movies on my moms semi smart tv. It's got very few features but can play media from flash drive. Anyway. Would this be good for that single task?

if the TV has a HDMI Firestick would be worth it. Movie playing might be choppy from USB.

As long as you are very patient while writing the movies and don't care about how long it takes, it should work fine. After my experiences with SanDisk products, i try to avoid them.
