They did. 1st gen SanDisk Ultra drives were little ssd's with dram. 120+ read / write. Then they decided to cut quality by 90% and reuse the ultra to shill their usual garbage. If you can find new old stock, their 64GB and higher drives were fantastic.

They call these ultra drives because of USB 3. That's it.

Priced wrong on the shelf. Clerk at register in computer department couldn't adjust it. Had to go to Customer Service. CS couldn't override the price. They wanted me to show them the online price on my phone. I didn't have a phone with me. Why couldn't he look on his phone. He used it for something. Waited for manager to show up who looked it up on his phone and told the clerk to give me the price I told him.

It's supposed to be USB3.0. Win11 has it's name as SanDisk 3.2 Gen1.

Transfer rate shoots up to 75 for a second and then normalizes to 30's and 40's.

I've always found standard USB flash drives to be great devices for my needs, but in 2023 I would not consider buying another flash device unless it was USB-C.

Yet Walmart limit to 2 per purchase of this "hot potato" so you can't reach the $35 Walmart "prime" free shipping. Simply pathetic, lol

Isn't 130MB/s a little too slow for USB 3.0?

These are a scam. No better than other flash drives without Ultra in the name.

How tf do you do pickup instead of shipping on their app? I'm not paying $7 to get it shipped from 2 miles away.

The Samsung FIT/BAR Plus can do sequential writes at 110MB/s from beginning to end. That's faster than some cheap SSDs, once the pSLC cache is exhausted.

I am big on having new tech, but I strongly disagree the other way. USB-A is still far and away more useful. There are relatively minuscule numbers of machines out there that are USB-C only compared to machines that have USB-A, which is still the most ubiquitous data connector in the world. Why would you intentionally constrain yourself on compatibility when the whole point of a flash drive is to transport between different machines? It's not like you are investing a lot of money and need to make a long term decision, these are $10. 5 years from now..yeah things will be different, but it's so cheap it doesn't matter.
