Yeah, only 2 tuners, and 500 gb 2.5 size hard drive seems like terrible deal for me.
I'm still rocking with my TIVO Roamio OTA 4 tuners with lifetime service for 199 dollars, and put in 8 TB WD RED drive in it (3.5 inch drive) with thousands of shows on it.
TIVO should have made a 3.5 hard drive model, like the Roamio, so we could put in hugh hard drives in it, and 4 or 6 tuners in it.
The community was telling TIVO to not use 2.5 inch drives ( Bolt/Edge) and stop making weird case for them. TIVO doesn't listen.

Seems like some people on forums have modded their unit to have external 3.5", but takes a little more effort that most end users want to put in

I am actually running a 2.5in NAS drive in my ancient Tivo HD, which originally came with a 3.5in drive in it. I just could not stand the louder clicking noise that 3.5 in drives make especially in the bedroom.
Having only two tuners might not be as much of a problem as before because people do not watch broadcast TV that much.

I disagree. With digital OTA channels, most people have many, many more OTA programs available to them. Part of the joy of a DVR is recording those old episodes of favorite shows that are in syndication on some of the sub-channels.
Two-tuners is a stupid limitation. The Edge, as a product, seems pretty mediocre. Upgrading to it from my Roamio OTA would be a downgrade.
Tivo needs to get ATSC 3 tuners, or there's no point to upgrading from an older unit.
