I am professional audio and video specialist. Weather conditions will effect your tv,regardless covered or not. Get ready for lot's of service calls. I suggest you to build case just let screen exposed. You will have better chance hopefully. Good luck.

Bought this for my office, for late-night TV viewing without waking up the kids. I ran the vegetable video, and mine has very minimal blooming. I compared it with my other two (much more expensive) TVs, and I don't see any differences in blooming worth mentioning. Certainly, nothing like the other guy's posted photos. I did tweak a few settings on the U6GR5: turned the brightness to normal, changed to color balance a bit to get rid of a bit of the green, and changed the contrast a little. The colors are good and the blacks too. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a fancy color calibrator that I use on all my TVs and monitors to make sure they look as good as possible. I haven't run it on this TV yet, but I'm not sure I even need to, since it looks good enough as-is.

ug6r is only 60hz, your archaic babble seems like you think it's 120hz

Indeed. No doubt putting it outside will be against some clause in the warranty. I can get 10x this TV vs a dedicated outdoor TV. I will for sure be getting a cover for it if not a dedicated case. Still researching that part.

Just assume you will be replacing it every 3 years or so.

Awesome! Just picked one up and the $50 off essentially paid for the Costco membership Plan on using this for an outdoor TV (under deck and covered)
I have a 65" 6 series TCL on my screened porch. I was hesitant as well, but after looking at pricing on "outdoor" TVs, I figured I would chance it. It's been up for about 3 years, and I'm obviously just 1 data point, but so far haven't had a single issue. It's in the middle of a large porch and under a roof, so it certainly doesn't get rained or snowed on, but otherwise it's exposed to cold and heat and all that, and has held up great so far. Hopefully you have good luck as well.

If you want a TV for PS5, you want a 120hz TV. Simple as that.

Can someone else confirm the U6G and U6GR5 (this one) is the same? Googled but still not sure...thx
Based on simple research they are definitely not the same.

U6GR has eARC
HDMI 2.1
Variable refresh rate.
Better motion interpolation.

These are the things I noticed right off the bat.

grabbed one for shipping to arrive on Saturday - if it is good for the space I am putting it (office, wall mount for streaming content), I'll be happy and will cancel the Best Buy order/delivery on the U8G that was selling for $300 more (notably, for a better spec'd device)
