I am professional audio and video specialist. Weather conditions will effect your tv,regardless covered or not. Get ready for lot's of service calls. I suggest you to build case just let screen exposed. You will have better chance hopefully. Good luck.

Bought this for my office, for late-night TV viewing without waking up the kids. I ran the vegetable video, and mine has very minimal blooming. I compared it with my other two (much more expensive) TVs, and I don't see any differences in blooming worth mentioning. Certainly, nothing like the other guy's posted photos. I did tweak a few settings on the U6GR5: turned the brightness to normal, changed to color balance a bit to get rid of a bit of the green, and changed the contrast a little. The colors are good and the blacks too. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a fancy color calibrator that I use on all my TVs and monitors to make sure they look as good as possible. I haven't run it on this TV yet, but I'm not sure I even need to, since it looks good enough as-is.

I just picked one up on Monday, the 90 day return policy made me feel more comfortable doing so. After having the TV a couple days, I don't have any desire to return it. Picture quality (from my very unprofessional opinion) is beautiful and colors seem punchy but realistic after some calibration. I have some hesitation around the brand and was hoping for 120hz, but this tv checked all the other boxes at a great price and so far so good.

This has HDMI 2.1, but doesn't support 4K/120hz due to native 60hz panel. Just a heads up for next gen console gamers!

I don't know if this rtings review applies to this TV . . . it's hard to say if this note in the review is only referring to the 'Dimming zones' section it occurs in or if it refers to the entire review of the U6G. It looks like this U6GR5 may be even better than the U6G.

"Hisense has released a variant of this TV, known as the Hisense U6GR or Hisense U6GR5. It's a completely different TV, with more advanced gaming features, including variable refresh rate support. It also runs the Roku smart interface instead of Android TV. We don't expect our results here to be valid for the U6GR."

Anyone have any insight into this vs the Samsung also offered at Costco, which one is better for the money?

Its Costco - so even if you use it outside and it breaks, you can return it within the 3 years and they replace it.

Ive seen people return half eaten birthday cakes. Nuts.

Same question regarding above Samsung model, plus how does the Hisense compare to this LG model at Costco for $10 more? Which one of the 3 models would you buy?

Personally I avoid samsung products like the plague. But buying at costco might help avoid their terrible customer service issues?

The LG or Samsung listed are not quantum dot version, just normal RGB filter with less color.

The Hisense one has quantum dot instead... not a very good comparison, right?

For the same tech, maybe compare to QLED version of the TVs.
For example: Samsung QLED [costco.com]

Geez, I missed that note completely. Ugh, I wish they would test this variant now, but mine is due to arrive Thursday.

I bought one on the 14th for 499 at Costco. I had to go back in but they price matched it without issue.
