So the QLC and the Plus are both compatible with the PS5?

Thanks, saw an article comparing the rocket 4 to western digital, and wd appears faster but I'm wondering if difference will be noticeable in a ps5. This seems like a good price.

Are does good for NAS caching or is it overkill? Not sure what I'm looking for and need to do more homework but decide to take a chance and ask you guys.

no, they won't cause any noticeable difference. Both QLC and Rocket 4 plus work with PS5. Loading games on any sort of nvme ssd will have a very small time frame difference in loading times. SN850 is significantly faster in 4kb random read but Rocket 4 plus is slightly faster in 4kb write, again, not that it would cause a difference loading games.

Thoughts on the one with the heatsink? Will they work and fit on the PS5?

The QLC doesn't meet the speed requirements. While it can technically work in the PS5, it isn't recommended to use a drive that slow. The plus is fine though.

For those of u using this as an external drive what enclosure are u using, so that the heat gets dessipated properly so that the speeds stay high most of the time if not all time. Thanks for inputs

Just noticed the rocket 4 does not have a heat sink I think, for those interested in using it for ps5.

Way overkill, and caching on NAS is intended for NAS with regular access patterns (e.g. you're regularly accessing the same files when using the NAS) so not all NAS usages fit a caching model.

Great SSDs for the money. In my real-world usage, the Sabrent QLC NVMe SSDs beat the Crucial P1 and another SSD that used the same chipset. Not sure how Sabrent accomplishes this, but I don't encounter the "speeds drop to HDD levels after a small cache is exhausted" issues that I've read about and also experienced in real-world use with other SSDs that use the same or similar chipset. If you need NVMe speeds that at their worst drop to SATA SSD speeds, I've not found anything that beats Sabrent. Closest competition I've found would be the Hynix Gold series, but they don't make models larger than 1TB afaik, whereas I've got Sabrent NVMe SSDs up to 4TB. I have about 10-12TB of Sabrent NVMe SSDs from the last 3+ years, and have zero issues. They don't give Samsung Pro performance, but the cost efficiency can't be beat. I always pick up one or two during these sales... here we go again.

I'm still sitting on the Crucial P5 Plus that Newegg had for $120 a couple of weeks ago, thinking some of these faster drives might drop. So far the 1TBs for PS5 seem to be bottoming out around $150, wondering if there'll be something special around BF.

Nice deal.

7000 read, yikes, leaves my WD Black 750 in the dust.

MS FS2020 with max. scenery will look great.
