As others will mention, check with your local utility company first. If that's not available, and if you're not a Costco member, it seems like Best Buy, Amazon, Hone Depot, etc have matched. But theirs doesn't come with the extra sensor.

Fyi.. the new Google Nest cameras on sale for black Friday only work in the Google Home app, while the temperature sensors only work with the thermostat in the Nest app. So be mindful that depending on what you have may create a disjointed experience.

Nest was quality stuff before Google bought them and ruined everything. Now I get disconnected all the time looking to replace this crap

Common issue. Means the wifi chip is dying. I'd bet that your display is slow to come on too? Contact support and they'll replace it with another piece of junk.

FWIW the recent amazon reviews on the google nest thermostats are horrendously negative with plenty of issues from battery, to stopping on the coldest/hottest days (endangering pets), to wifi issues, etc.

Wow that sucks. I must have been one of the lucky ones to not experiencing any issues. Going strong after 3 years, been using it in 2 different houses.

I too have one where it's inconsistent. Sometimes it'll go way over temp torching my house and sometimes it'll be way to low freezing my family. The temperature reading will show it's 5F over the temp I set to. I got sick and tired of it and eventually I have the smart functionalities turned off to just have it be on a schedule like any dumb old thermostat. It still does the same thing. I searched on google only to find many people with the same problems for multiple years now. The whole thread is just people coming up with theories and Google doing nothing.

Is it the latest version (gen3)? The previous gens seem to be better.

The other issues people have is with it's smart-learning feature not holding temps (no hold temp).

FWIW, I've been very happy with the two that I own. They do a good job of maintaining the desired/set temperature in two separate floors. As I mentioned earlier, I supplemented the whole system with standalone temp sensors, and depending on the day, the set point is determined by the temp sensors or the thermostat.

Once I started working from home 100%, I had to turn off all the smart learning functions, because there wasn't anything to learn (e.g., departure time, arrival time, etc of the occupants). When everyone leaves in the morning and I'm in my office during the day, the downstairs unit is set to operate only a few times a day. Over the weekend, I have the opposite schedule.

I got rid of my nests a while ago because my attic system wasnt compatible. Im kind of glad i went to honeywell because i was having WAY too many issues with Nest.

I do not think the SRP sale includes the extra sensor? And the $50 rebate should be applicable for any smart thermostat you purchased from a third party (like Costco) and do the Bring Your Own Device program.

The remote sensor is a band aid. Nothing wrong with that, but it's addressing the symptom not the root cause. Your house's AC ventilation isn't well balanced. Too much air going to the near side, too little to the far side. You would save as much or more money by fixing that vs adding a sensor.
