slim 7i is still pretty good. Slightly reddish hue on the screen but very nice overall with 90hz (not that noticeable though). Sound is fairly good but macbook air m1 is still slightly better with fuller sound.
if you want 16gb, 1tb, and prefer Windows, then this is not a bad option at all. For me though, I probably will just return this laptop.
Oh fan noise is not bad at all as it rarely ever kicks in and battery life is decent too. The laptop is slightly hot and heavy though.
They didn't mention that in website for this product. In fact for any of the Thanksgiving laptop deals. I believe it has to be explicitly mention that for the product?
Sure, you could probably run Minecraft and Roblox on this, since they aren't super graphics intensive (although Minecraft can be), but you'd get much better performance out of a laptop with a dedicated GPU and a 1080p screen with a higher refresh rate, plus it would be much cheaper.
This laptop really isn't geared at gaming at all, and the specs that make it expensive are things that your kid won't need at all for the use case you described, and if he ever transitions to more demanding games outside of Minecraft/Roblox it'll be very apparent that a dedicated GPU would have served him better than an i7, 2880x1800 touchscreen, and 1TB SSD.

Also the speakers are on SP8 are amazing, I doubt the Slim 7i Pro will be close at all quality-wise.
The slim 7i is faster though and has superior thermals, meaning performance wise it's much more capable/quieter during lighter/normal workloads or browsing. Slim 7i also has far superior ports and that's the main advantage imo, apart from that SP8 is good
