and the non pro can do about 2.2x with ai go test it in bestbuy agaisnt other phone
google cams stands out mostly for the ai not only on the zoom
So while you can praise it unless it can be used on a regular basis it is not worth it. I assume this is the version of 5G that cannot go thru buildings, walls, trees, cars, etc. Basically only good for line of sight between the phone and tower.
We're going to have to agree to disagree. Just because something isn't available to the masses doesn't make it "failed technology" or worthless. Mmwave will come to more places but it may never blanket the world (or a single country) and that's ok. It doesn't mean that a phone with mmwave capability will never be useful to anyone who doesn't live in a major city. Mmwave will be there when they visit and they will be wowed by it like I was.

Performance: The Pixel 6 definitely has stronger performance in the GPU and CPU for sure. However, this doesn't really mean much for the average user, because the Snapdragon 765G in the 5a is fast for everyday tasks. The biggest difference is in the GPU. The Pixel 6 will totally be worth it for anyone who plays demanding games. I never game on my phone, so I am fine with the 5a personally.
Battery: There isn't a ton of data on this yet, but it seems the Pixel 6 gets better battery life! EDIT: I just watched some additional video reviews, and the consensus seems to be that the battery is very similar between the two. The Pixel 6 gets marginally better battery life.
Cameras: The Pixel 6 definitely wins this round too, but the 5a still takes fantastic shots! It is still top in it's class, and it can even hold it's own against the big dogs in a lot of ways. Again, the 6 beats the 5a, but I would argue that the 5a is good enough for most, especially for the price.
Other: The Pixel 5a has a headphone jack, which is a handy feature that I have utilized more than once. The Pixel 6 has wireless charging, which some people love. I don't mind plugging my phone in, and I would rather save the $150 honestly. Also, as some other users commented, the Pixel 5a has the rear capacitive fingerprint scanner, which is allegedly both faster and more reliable than the optical scanner on the 6.
So it really boils down to what you want in a phone! I would argue that the 5a is worth the cost savings because it offers just enough for most users, and it's really affordable. Get the Pixel 6 if you want to feel like your phone is newer and shinier, and/or if you are a big gamer/need the marginally better battery life. Sorry for the long post lol. At lot of this is subjective, and I would always advise you do your own further research before purchasing a new phone! Hope I helped you a bit
$550 vs $900 is a pretty large difference in price.
EDIT: I just realized you said, "main rear facing camera" so that point stands, the main sensors are identical. I do think the zoom lens shouldn't be understated though, it's quite invaluable to most people, in my experience at least.

I have the Pixel 6.
The fingerprint reader is absolute ish. Add on a screen protector and forget about it...it is useless.
Oh and don't forget:
The weight. Jesus this is a beast of a phone in terms of weight. If weight is an issue, reconsider the Pixel 6 series.
You better get a case for this phone solely for the reason of balancing out the back of the phone. The camera bulge is crazy. You really need a decent case to make the back flush. Then again, the iPhone 13 series has the same issue. All these phones and their crazy camera systems!
The speakers are also pretty ish. I compared the audio from the Pixel 6 to my old OnePlus 6 and my iPhone 13. Its not even a comparison. iPhone 13 is the best. OnePlus 6 still sounds great. Pixel 6 sounds like mono. Really sad
Side note: do not use the camera protectors if you get them included with your Pixel 6 screen protectors. Yes, it seems like a good idea since the cameras are the selling point for these phones and you never want to scratch the glass in front of the lens. The problem is that these protectors seem to cause a focusing issue. Was occurring on my iPhone 13 and my wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max. Took off the protectors and it was like we got a brand new camera. As a result I didn't even waste my time putting the protector on my Pixel 6.
I think the phone to look out for is the Xperia 5 iii (the 1 iii is better, but I'm looking at the price point. 1-iii is $1300, the 5-iii should be $900). Good weight, thin, good cameras, 3.5mm jack, microSD card, capacitive fingerprint scanner.
