As someone who has a pixel 6 Pro, I highly recommend just getting the 6. It's so much cheaper and the Pro has no features that are worth the pricetag over the non pro. If I could do it again, I'd get the pixel 6.

The phone is big on the hands and quite heavy. Be warned. You'll end up missing smaller phone size of 5.7to 6.2 inch screens

Nova launcher is immensely customizable, and I can't recommend it enough. You can move the stock Pixel launcher elements wherever you want, among MANY other options.

So, the Pixel 5a for $399, or the Pixel 6 for $549? Pros and cons anyone?
Here is why I returned the p6.
Crappy fingerprint sensor
Pretty bad hepatic feedback due to motor at top of phone
Thick and heavy

Now if I didn't already have note 20 ultra I'd probably keep the p6 and deal with it.

I've never had 5a but had the 5 and I would choose 5 over 6.

Screens: The Pixel 6 has a better screen, but the 5a's screen should suffice for most average users, imo. They are both 90hz and vibrant OLED panels. The 6 gets a good deal brighter, but even the 5a will do fine in direct sunlight, so it isn't that huge of a difference there.
Performance: The Pixel 6 definitely has stronger performance in the GPU and CPU for sure. However, this doesn't really mean much for the average user, because the Snapdragon 765G in the 5a is fast for everyday tasks. The biggest difference is in the GPU. The Pixel 6 will totally be worth it for anyone who plays demanding games. I never game on my phone, so I am fine with the 5a personally.
Battery: There isn't a ton of data on this yet, but it seems the Pixel 6 gets better battery life! EDIT: I just watched some additional video reviews, and the consensus seems to be that the battery is very similar between the two. The Pixel 6 gets marginally better battery life.
Cameras: The Pixel 6 definitely wins this round too, but the 5a still takes fantastic shots! It is still top in it's class, and it can even hold it's own against the big dogs in a lot of ways. Again, the 6 beats the 5a, but I would argue that the 5a is good enough for most, especially for the price.
Other: The Pixel 5a has a headphone jack, which is a handy feature that I have utilized more than once. The Pixel 6 has wireless charging, which some people love. I don't mind plugging my phone in, and I would rather save the $150 honestly. Also, as some other users commented, the Pixel 5a has the rear capacitive fingerprint scanner, which is allegedly both faster and more reliable than the optical scanner on the 6.

So it really boils down to what you want in a phone! I would argue that the 5a is worth the cost savings because it offers just enough for most users, and it's really affordable. Get the Pixel 6 if you want to feel like your phone is newer and shinier, and/or if you are a big gamer/need the marginally better battery life. Sorry for the long post lol. At lot of this is subjective, and I would always advise you do your own further research before purchasing a new phone! Hope I helped you a bit
I agree with that, and just want to add that 5a's display refresh rate is only 60hz, not 90hz.
The only dealbreaker of Pixel 6 is the fingerprint sensor, so if you can live without the tempered glass. or if you can live with pattern to open your screen, then it's worth $149 more than Pixel 5a.

6 and 6 pro are excellent. i begrudgingly switched from android back to iOS a year ago because apple had the best camera.

ten minutes with the pixel and it reminded me how unbelievably awful ios and the iphone are for a phone.

the non advertised google innovations are what i love. phone screening, speech to text is too good, translation is incredible, etc.

i own several businesses and i use pixel 6 pro with a surface duo and its a phenomenal combo.

Does the Pixel 6 feel a lot larger and heavier than the iPhone 13? I use an iPhone 12 Pro and have been thinking about getting back to Pixels again, but the size and weight of the 12 pro is pretty much at the edge of my comfort zone… (I used the 3a before switching to iPhone)
Significantly, yes. Weight is especially noticeable. Size is fairly significant, especially the camera bump. I hate iOS. I'm only using the iPhone 13 for the required number of days to unlock it. So I have been using it quite extensively. It is a nice feel in the hand. Pixel is big. I was really hoping the Pixel 6 would have mimicked the traditional Pixel design Frown.

If you are OK with iOS and being connected to all the environment (iCloud, WhatsApp backup to iCloud, etc.), then go with the iPhone. I can't stand the iOS environment. I am actually using WhatsApp on my Pixel while the SIM is in the iPhone because I don't want to go through the process of importing the Google Drive backup to iCloud. Too much work. Just getting contacts transferred to iPhone was a chore!

Pixel 6 on screen fingerprint reader is kind of finky for some. It takes half a second to unlock at times which is super annoying.
I heard this issue is now fixed in mid November fix.

Thanks. Bummer on size and shape. I miss pixel whenever I turn on my 3a. I though I would enjoy iOS before switching over. I had high hopes that I'd be switching back to the pixel with the launch of the 6. Fingers crossed for the 6a.

$150 is now 3 tanks of gas. 2 tanks if you live in California or drive a truck. Inflation is making these phones seem very affordable. Just wait until the dollar menus become $3 menus.

Also, security updates. 6 will have it for five years while the 5a only three years.

Yes, latest and greatest (6/6 Pro) at the moment, but the Galaxy S22 is coming out in a few months, so that will take the crown presumably (specifically the S22 Ultra).
