No!!! The trial sim will screw you over since you won't be considered a 'new customer' anymore.
Tough call then. You go for the trial and find out the service is bad for where you usually go and save a bunch by not getting the deal. Or you get the deal and hope the service is ok. If you live on the edge geographically to T-Mobile signals I'd go for the trial. I look at T-Mobiles coverage map and if I go 4-5 miles to the west, there's basically no coverage for 30-40 miles further west.

I am really irked by Mint Mobile offering all these deals for new customers only. Existing customers are taken for granted. Have been using Mint for a long time but now looking for another provider.

The $25/month unlimited deal from metro by t-mobile seems pretty tempting, would've been perfect if it included tethering as well.
Just go for visible. It's unlimited with tethering for $25 flat. Good sign-up deals too, first month will be 5 bucks with referral.

You can get referral credit $15 by using referral link (from r* forum) .
Also if transferring phone # from ATT or Verizon, there is $100 credit promotion instead of free 3 months.

You can do the trial with a newly generated number, just don't port in for the trial. If satisfied after the trial, get the deal and port in...

There are plenty of free codes on eBay too, just search mint referral and look in the listings for the link (ignore the price on the listings, you don't have to buy anything).

The $100 Verizon/ATT bonus is for the referrer, not the referee. The referee gets the $15 on top of the 3+3 regardless of carrier they come from.

Doesn't bother me. Offers to lure in new customers are common with any company. If they offered this to everyone they'd end up losing money and have to raise prices. I'm perfectly happy paying 18 a month after taxes. Actually a lot less than that as I've gotten referral credits.

At least they aren't like the cable companies that will double your rate after the first year or lock you into contracts etc.

TMobile esim for certain apple and pixel devices only. They would not have ATT since they have nothing to do with ATT.

For 3 years I bought this BF deal thinking it would be better. Nope. Still sucks.

Walk near any crowded area like a grocery store and you're depiroritized to death. Sometimes nothing works. Very YMMV depending on where you live.
